This was the second surprise encounter for us last Sunday on our walk around Belstone Tor. After saying hello to the lonely grazing cow we climbed up the first of the granite outcrops that line the ridge of Belstone Tor. To our utter delight we spotted some wild Dartmoor ponies. We carefully approached the animals, did not want to scare them off. That was when we realised that a foal was part of the beautiful trio. This was one of the most wonderful wildlife experiences we had so far down south! The foal was incredibly inquisitive and approached us to about 2 metres distance. We simply stood there in awe and enjoyed being so close to those wild roaming ponies. What a great encounter that was!

For my other niece, Carter- the Turning Twenty pattern, made as a "turning 16" instead. Pretty much all Freshcut fabrics, in all colorways.
I'm so happy to have finished it up this morning.
This is one of those quilts that I've always wanted to make and am so glad that I took the time to do so. It's bright, cheery and and best of all... finished! :)

Am in denial about the Olympics being over, and Summer being over, escpecially as we've had more Summer- like weather this past week than I can recall having during the actual Summer, so I'm hoping this may continue, that it may go on and on....(am eternally optimistic:)...
