A cardboard base is placed between the inner and outer layers; spot clean or dry clean only.

Patchwork Promenade by Denyse Schmidt. Fabric from Alison's Etsy shop.

I will be hoarding this until I move and set up my new sewing room. I will probably get a bench or something and cover it with this fabric so I can look at it every day.

The flower girl dress from Heather Ross' "Weekend Sewing" book. I added the the sash and buttoned the back of the straps to the dress. Used fabric from Tanya Whelan's "Grand Revival" collection. The cream is a cotton sateen. I just love her fabrics!

Okay, I love this block. I love its impact, its simplicity, and how relatively easy it is to match points (I didn't try that hard so there are some mismatches, but look how slight they are!).

Kate posted two sets of instructions, and I went with the first actually because I had my fabrics cut before she posted the second set of instructions, but I think the first set of instructions is pretty easy -- just more time-consuming than your average 12.5" square block! I'm taking a breather before I work on my second one:)

I've finished up my pillow for the Pillow Talk swap! Someone needs to get ready for a rather large pillow cover... it's fit for a 24" square pillow.
