One of two buildings in the ghost town of Elkhorn that comprise the smallest state park in Montana. The structure was built in 1893 by fraternal organizations that were active in the town which was thriving as a result of mining in the area. Current population of Elkhorn is around 10.

"To the great tree-loving fraternity we belong. We love trees with universal and unfeigned love, and all things that do grow under them or around them — the whole leaf and root tribe."

- Henry Ward Beecher

A fraternity paddle given to me by my little brother Amber before we both graduated in 2003. It hung on my wall in my room since then before taking it down to take this shot.

After WW II, my dad went to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, NE, for one year before moving to Texas.

He was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

The photo was taken in 1946. My dad is third from the right in the front row.

Finally got another elusive 1965 outfit I have wanted for ages;- ‘Fraternity Dance’, but wanted to wait until I found one in great condition where that very 60’s lace bodice was still crisp white and that dramatic chiffon sash and overskirt was still vibrant, and of course, with that gorgeous little amethyst brooch on the sashed waist still intact. My brunette AG thought it was worth the wait! I love this outfit as it harks back to another more dressed-up time when college kids would dress like this to go to a formal, (well, maybe only in movies and in Barbie-land, but we can dream!) An interesting note on this gal:- One side of her hair is much thicker than the other side, and I think they realised this at the factory as there is a whole row of rooting near her ear that wasn’t done on that side… no empty ‘plugs’ or anything … not even any marks for holes! That made the bobbed hairstyle look more balanced on both sides, so that was very clever of them!!!

Haven't done a crime photo in a while. Thought I'd start the new year off right.
