Seth Peterson Cottage

(#81000059)

Dell Ave.

Lake Delton, WI

Small modernist cottage built in 1958, overlooking Mirror Lake. Frank Lloyd Wright's last building in Wisconsin. Now available for rental and tours.

An amazing house to visit, and well worth the trip down to the University of Chicago campus.

We went to Bella Vista, Arkansas for a pastoral staff retreat, and this is one of my friend Jana's favorite places. The architect was a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. You can definitely see his influences.

Pictures from our tour of the house and grounds of Kentuck Knob, a home built for the Hagan (Ice Cream) family by Frank Lloyd Wright. The house, and all of the wonderful artwork, is now owned by Lord Peter Palumbo of London, England.

Taliesin West was not a refined place like, for example, the Robie House was. Wright referred to TW as "the camp." Where many of the buildings he designed for others had beautiful art glass, his own Sun Cottage at Taliesin West had windows like these.

I think they're beautiful.

Due to site constraints, the garage door has to be located at the corner of the proposed structure. This will require a telescoping type door with a cantilevered structure to eliminate any column at this corner.
