In 2003, the Bayerische Eisenbahngesellschaft (which subsidised regional services in Bavaria) awarded the franchise to Regentalbahn (operating as Die Länderbahn, that is "the State Railway") for operating the Allgäu Express (ALEX)
This order of words is better let's stay away from large franchises owned by EA..
Union Pacific 7483 powers through the mainline at Need or Galt rather, but the railroad calls it what the railroad calls it, with what used to be the Brooklyn Trailers. At the time of this was was taken this train was the Stacks from Seattle to The Shops and now this train has become the Seattle Zip to finally match it's counterpart the ZLCTM. Progress maybe? Or just a front for peak UPS and FedEx season only time will tell.
Title seemed fitting enough since the California Department of Corrections training center is right here on Twin Cities Road also...
This place was the first McDonald's franchise, anywhere. A McDonald's franchise stood here before Chicago (Des Plaines) had its franchises. Before Ray Kroc. Here, McDonald's faded out and this Japanese quick-service restaurant faded in.

This is Rhydon, the dinosaur-like Pokemon. Rhydon's horn is capable of drilling through rocks and even creating tunnels.
His strong hide is like armor that can withstand immense physical damage even from a cannonball blast.
He even has other strange features as well.
Some have even said that Rhydon has the ability to surf as well.
After seeing a good part usage for his horn, I have constructed Rhydon to become more
like a titan (that's why he's a little bigger than he should).
US-27 Twin Drive In: I remember this drive-in being opened during the Covid pandemic where folks could stay in their cars. Kentucky travel restrictions and gatherings of fewer than 10 people ended in May of 2020.
The drive-in shuttered its gates in 2021. Gone. Dark. Ceased to be.
We never saw the manor house that this drive leads to. It must be pretty impressive considering the size of the driveway though

Bristol Flyers vs London Lions, British Basketball League (BBL) game on Sunday 2nd April 2023, at SGS WISE Arena, New Road, Stoke Gifford, Bristol, during the 2022-23 season.
About the photographs.
V.J. King wearing jersey number 17 and in control of the ball, playing for Bristol Flyers, is seen dribbling the ball and coming to a stop, when he was momently blocked by Olumiye Oni of London Lions, wearing white jersey with number 13 on it.
King was born on 22nd January 1997 in Cleveland, Ohio, US, while Oni was born on 4th April 1997 in Porter Ranch, California, US. Information is according to a website I found on the Internet.
The game went on to end with Flyers 87 – 82 Lions.
About the teams.
The Bristol Flyers was formed in 2006 by a merger of two former Bristol based teams, the Filton Flyers and the Bristol Academy, to become known as Bristol Academy Flyers. They started in the English Basketball League, in Division 2, and one year later, they moved up to Division 1.
By 2013, they got financial backing from the owner of Bristol City football club. As part of the deal, they moved into the top level franchise based BBL, for the 2014-15 season, that was when they became known simply as Bristol Flyers. Their highest finish in BBL was 4th place during the 2021-22 season.
London Lions actually started out as Hemel Hempstead Laker in 1977, and changed their name to Hemel Royals before moving to Watford, and finally moved to Milton Keynes.
They became known as Milton Keynes Lions, and that was when their performance improved, including winning the BBL Cup during the 2007-08 season.
By 2012, due to losing their home arena in Milton Keynes, they were relocated to London, thus renamed as the London Lions.

Cardiff Met Archers vs Nottingham Wildcats, Women’s British Basketball League (WBBL) match on Saturday 21st January 2023. Game played at the Archers Arena, Cardiff Metropolitan University, in Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom, during the 2022-23 season.
About the photograph.
The Cardiff Met Archers player Lara Habling could be seen just behind the Wildcats player wearing jersey number 30, just to the left of the photo.
She is the one who attempted to shoot the ball from her position there, at the basket and hope for a 3 points shoot. You’ll notice the official holding up three of his fingers to signal an attempt for 3 points.
However the attempt failed, the ball bounced off the backboard, and is on a rebound.
Here we have Nottingham Wildcats player Kayla Shaw (closer to camera) watching the ball, and hoping to catch it.
I thought to change this shot into black and white in Adobe Lightroom for a dramatic effect.
With special thanks to the members of Cardiff Met staff for giving me permissions to shoot the game from courtside.
I had been taking the photos with a 50mm f1.8 lens, as it was only fast enough than the 28-200mm lens I have, for the indoor shots. I was allowed to go up and down the sidelines, as long as I don’t get too close to the playing field.
At the end of the game, the score was Archers 69 – 75 Wildcats.
About the teams.
The Wales based Cardiff Met Archers started in 1999, as a university basketball team. They have about 19 different teams, range from Under-10s to Seniors, and men’s teams as well as women’s teams.
The women’s senior team (seen here in the photograph) is the only team in a top-level elite franchise-based league. They joined the Women’s British Basketball League when it was first set up in 2014, and to date, are still in the WBBL.
The Nottingham Wildcats is an English women’s basketball team based in Nottingham, England, and was founded in 1976. As a successful team in the English Women’s Basketball League, the Wildcats became one of the founding members of the WBBL.
They had two Championships in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons, and also won the WBBL Cup during the 2017-18 season.
The Women’s British Basketball League is a top-level franchised based basketball league in the United Kingdom, and a sister to the men’s British Basketball League (BBL). It was announced in June 2014 and started with the 2014-15 season.

Harry Potter is the third and currently last franchise I could think of with enough characters to fill the Emotional Spectrum. Here's my versions of Harry Potter Lanterns:
Left to right:
Black Lantern (Death): Voldemort
Red Lantern (Rage): Bellatrix Lestrange
Orange Lantern (Avarice): Gilderoy Lockhart
Yellow Lantern (Fear): Death Eater
Green Lantern (Will): Harry Potter
Blue Lantern (Hope): Ron Weasley
Indigo Lantern (Compassion): Luna Lovegood
Violet Lantern (Love): Lily Potter
White Lantern (Life): Albus Dumbledore
*Harry Potter is cool, but JK Rowling sucks for being a TERF*

As most of you know, with LA Franchising going on, Waste Management replaced pretty much the entire Sun Valley fleet within a few short weeks. The last remaining Diesels were sent out of service at the end of June just as the new contract started. Kevin spotting 203030 driving (not being towed) down the 210 on June 30th, and that same day, I went to the shop to check the status of all the old Sun Valley trucks. I noticed that almost every single old truck was still listed as "active" or "flagged for disposal", meaning that they were still around somewhere and not scrapped.
Yesterday, I was informed by WM's area fleet director that they were in fact sending the old Sun Valley units to UTE in San Bernardino, where they are being assessed, and the ones that can still be used will be refurbished and sent to other sites. Excited to see that, Kevin, Bryan, and I made a last minute trip out here to see what was at UTE. It was like seeing a mini Sun Valley yard!
Only trucks missing from here that haven't been scrapped are:
- 205455 (WXLL/Wittke)
- 403899 (WhiteGMC Road Commander/Spartan)
-205975 (WX42/Wittke)
-207757 (MR/Leach)
Thanks to Kevin and Bryan for tagging along for the trip!
Given the popularity of the Fallout franchise of games, it shouldn't surprise anyone that it was built in brick form not once but twice this year for BrickCon. I don't personally know much about the game, but this build seems to evoke that sense of rust, decay, and post-apocalyptic desperation.
The Steel / Water type Pokemon Empoleon.
I suddenly realized the surprising use of the trident. I wonder why no one else has tried...
Anyways, Empoleon is a large penguin-like Pokemon that is full of pride and majesty.
His body looks similar to a tuxedo.
Bad to the bone...
First up is Marowak and Cubone. With these new bone pieces out, I instantly thought of these guys and used a white droid torso for Marowak's skull.
He was fun to make, but hard to balance. Gravity sure gets on my nerves...
Another favorite is Feraligatr, the bulky crocodilian Pokemon.
He is most notably known for his battle-like stature, as well as his powerful jaw.
Feraligatr moves faster in water than in land, then brutally attacks its opponents by dragging them down into the depths.
