This is a close-up of a cracked and splintered board that was part of a hoarding surrounding a demolition sight.
In the deep stillness of the night,
I look out over this city
it has just rained
and fog lies among
glistering pillars of iron and glass
I smile amused by how
the Los Angeles skyline looks like Gotham.

As with my previous photograph, "Fractured Reality I", this has been reassembled from the sections of yesterday's photograph of ancient rocks. They are similar, but noticeably different.
Near the summit of Black Point (6959 ft.) is an area cracked with deep (30 - 50 Ft.) fissures. Thirteen thousand years ago this was a Volcano beneath a shallow ice age lake. The water levels dropped and the volcano became an island and then a peninsula. Parts of the sides of the fissures are covered with a layer of crystalline tufa (Thinolitic tufa). In the background are the Sierra Nevada Mountains and a portion of Mono lake can be seen. Mono county, California, U.S.A.

This rockscape is on the opposite side of the Islet, the elements have shaped these volcanic cliffs in such a unique way but it's unfortunate I couldn't really capture it from this perspective, you really can only do it from a boat and the one that dropped us off doesn't go to this side. Red Bull sponsors an annual cliff diving competition here in July. They use to allow us to cross this bridge but not anymore as me and my bother got an earful from the lifeguards .:-))
Hope all of you have a great weekend ! :-))
Pulled to the shoulder of the road to take pictures of a small stream, but wasn't happy with the look of the scene once I was able pulled over. Looked across the freeway to my left and liked the stand of tall skinny trees with dense forest behind. Using intentional camera movement. Ended up with several shots I liked. The reason I titled this Fractured Forest was the fractured and processed look the small branches created on the image. I flipped the image over 180 degrees because I liked the way it looks better upside-down. So what you're now seeing is actually upside-down.
