Fractal models attract me always, so has done this. Each starting sheet (which is cutted into 12 sheets for a whole star) is 3/4 of the larger one. I started with 15 cm and 8.44 was already quite small, which made some folding steps hard and assembly not so stable. So I decided not to go smaller.
Perhaps I fold a larger surrounding star to make it 4 iterations in the end. Both this flat variant is possible, as is is "doble" variant.

It was cool. It was windy. It was very windy. 8ish in the morning, and the Fort DeSoto pier was completely empty as the sun rose behind me. Not a great day to shoot by any means, but I'll never pass up yet another pier shot...One more notch on the Tampa Bay pier belt.
5-shot HDR. I think I can attribute sea spray on the glass from a previous shot for the hexagonal light refractions going on around the light post. Whatever caused it, it was a happy as hell accident.
Image mirror view composed and stitched with Microsoft Paint of Windows. Distortions were made with the camera in "fish eye" mode. Colors were not modified.

I changed the formula a bit and tweaked the color and lighting settings a good deal. Mot a totally new fractal, just a light tweak, but I do like the results. Thank you, Garth, for sharing the parameters.
