A Julia fractal created with the Fractal Science Kit fractal generator.
See www.fractalsciencekit.com/ for details.
Julia fractals are named after the French mathematicians Gaston Julia whose work began the study of complex dynamics during the early 20th century.
The method used to produce this image was inspired by work done by Pablo Roman Andrioli (Kali).
The image shows an abstracted photo of an Alpine Chough with a computer generated fractal background.
Ultrafractal. This picture has the same pattern as the previous "Nova Julia 2 pinch" but another coloring.
A Julia fractal based on a Circle Vine orbit trap.
Created using the Fractal Science Kit fractal generator. See www.fractalsciencekit.com/ for details.

Whenever I see complicated and recursive patterns of Persian rugs, I automatically remember the fractal and fractal arts. I think Persian rugs are one of the most ancient forms of fractal arts.
"The Persian rug is an essential part of Persian art and culture. Carpet-weaving is undoubtedly one of the most distinguished manifestations of Persian culture and art, and dates back to the Bronze Age (c.3500-2000 BC)." (source: Wikipedia)

This one turned out so cool. It looks like there are 8 digital bees feeding on the nectar of the flower. This image is also in purple on Flickr.
Best Viewed as large as you can view it! :) I just LOVE making these. :)

Darting, slipping, lithe seals cavort in naked delight, riding tide surges through kelp bed's tall swaying fronds, dislodged foam bubbles rising to the moon light.
Their mer-song carried in wind and waves......
.....ah yes...I heard it...so clear on that bright night.
