Door knockers, etc. My favorite vendor at the local flea market, Deb, the metals lady allowed me to take some shots of her wonderful bounty offered for sale.

Another happy convergence of materials! The wonderful silver pocketwatch case-half had just arrived as part of a destash trade with fellow Steamteam member dbvictoria and the very blingy skull and crossbones found a home upon it. I was able to put a lot of movement into this one. The beautifully engraved safety pinions (the 2 half-moon shaped watch parts) hang freely from the black anodized aluminum and silver chain. They support the watch case on wire wraps with Swarovski crystal accents. The skull is firmly riveted to the watch case and the bones and clock hand swing freely underneath. The chain is black up past the collarbones then becomes a slender silver chain with a sterling lobster clasp. I am a trained silversmith and put this piece together with great care for long term adornment and enjoyment. Let' em eat steam!

This is my favorite of the three Valentine's cards. I enjoy the illustration work on all of them.
Copper flower, clip for ruler part, clock face with rhinestone brad, arrow turn, vintage optical lens, tiny hinge, black photo turn, round screen, hand charm, Maya Road blossom ribbon slide, amusement token, and Tim Holtz jump rings are available from Bonnie's Best. Remaining items are costume jewelry parts and found objects.

At a wide spot on a trail through a wooded area, someone had left an odd array of things--a steam iron, a child's packet of school portraits, cups, jewelry, etc.--after partially burning some of them.

Ruth Tabancay. 21" x 33" x 60". Used Teabags, Hand-sticted muslin, and embroidery.
This quilt, made from found, used, teabags, speaks to the user by evoking the notion of friendship, comfort, and warmth that is associated with drinking tea. Her work is an opposition to "high-tech" and calls on the sculptural forms of everyday life.
