Get Pushed Round 55
I was challenged by coollessons2004, Rich Levine to produce:
"Film noir, night work, street or alley... Dark shadows, bright light, maybe a mysterious figure...all very moody..."
I had this dark arch in Sandwich old town in my head as I read the brief... And wandered there for a practice... As I'm snapping with the iPhone this figure wandered through... And I rather liked the result. Taken in daylight, (sorry Rich) and edited out...
I hope this meets the challenge! :0)
Ansel Adam & Me
Yesterday afternoon, I discovered a link with someone for whom I have a boundless admiration: Ansel Adams, undisputed Master of black and white and co-inventor of the Zone System. But what is the link? At different times, we used the same light meter model, the Weston Master II. I already knew that Adams had used a Weston light meter because he tells a tasty story about his Weston light meter he could not find, while he was trying to take one of his most famous photo: Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico. But it was only yesterday afternoon, after looking for a picture of Adams in Google Images, that I noticed that in his left hand he was holding a light meter that looked a lot like mine. So I started looking for this picture of Adams in larger size. I finally found a big picture (3003 x 4999) on a Russian site. It was like a revelation! I had in my hands the same light meter model as the great Ansel Adams! Imagine my joy!
The light meter was offered to me this summer by my very good friend Frank. The light meter is in a mint condition, with its different instruction manuals, its warranty and its original box. But does the light meter still work? The answer is yes. He reacts well to the light. But I do not know yet if the light meter works well, that is, if the reading data is still correct. To find out, I will have to find some free time to do some tests. But frankly, whether it works well or not, it doesn’t matter so much to me now. Why ? Because since yesterday, I found myself a link with the Master of the black and white ;-)
Thank you Bro for this fantastic gift …
