These foster kittens are all littermates. One of the gray kittens is polydactyl. They and their mother have since been adopted. There mother was gray(blue), short hair, like one of her kittens. I have no idea where the long hir of one of the gray kittens or the color point (siamese) genes came from. Maybe the father was a seal point Siamese mix.
Taken at the Foster the People, Kimbra, and Tokyo Police Club concert in Downsview Park. Hard to ask for a better lineup! I think it lasted from 6:30 PM to 11 PM. It was my first "rock" concert and my ears certainly took a beating. I think it had more to do with the girl screaming behind me though. I literally felt dizzy every time she screamed. My ears are still ringing a bit after a day.... I have to say it was still worth it though :D
This was taken with my new HTC One X. One of the best features it has is the ability to take ~5 MP stills WHILE shooting a video. This feature paired with the super quick shutter release on this phone makes it a dream to use! This was one of the shots. The quality is still acceptable.
As for the overall quality of the camera.....it is pretty poor compared to my Nokia N8. I feel like I should have waited for Pureview to arrive on a Lumia and Windows 8 Phone. But the responsiveness of the camera pretty much makes up for the lower quality. I also thought I would miss a dedicated camera button but I don't. I think the N8 one was a bit too hard to press and it ended up in blurrier photos due to the form factor of the phone (compared to a DSLR). But I think it is more important to get the shot of the moment than have a blurry (but noise free!) image.
I edited these photos on the phone with the app Aviary. I love it! Unlike some other apps, this one edits and accepts full res photos. The UI and options are also nice and the developers look like they are genuinely taking into consideration the suggestions made on their site. Let's just say I am impressed! Keep it up Aviary!
Unfortunately, the Aviary strips my EXIF info... my only true complaint, hopefully they will fix it.
Day Twenty-Three ~ Fostering Stuart
Last summer, we took Anna to PetSmart one Saturday and there was a rescue group there called Texas Animal Guardians. They had some adorable dogs up for adoption and Anna was smitten with the whole process. We went back most Saturdays for most of the summer. Gyvel, the organizer, started to recognize us and took a shine to Anna. One day, she brought a t-shirt for Anna and asked her if she would like to volunteer. Anna walks the dogs around PetSmart and is allowed to take them out to do their business. Last week, they pulled a lot of dogs out of a San Antonio kill shelter and were desperate for fosters or adopters.
This little guy is named Stuart. He was kept in an outdoor pen and it was getting below freezing at night. As soon as Anna picked him up, he fell asleep on her... in the middle of PetSmart! I couldn't bear the thought of him going back into the shelter, so we said we would try fostering him short-term. Well, he is getting along so well with Charlie and Lola that we called Gyvel on Sunday and said we would foster him until he found his forever family. He's about 8.5 pounds, a Terrier/Schnauzer mix (?), and is about 2 years old. He is completely housebroken and has no bad habits. How he ended up at the shelter is a mystery to me!

Week 2 beginning July 2, 2012 and ending July 6, 2012 was yet another great week at WGDC.
The second week of camp saw a record breaking heat wave! Campers stayed cool by swimming in the many pools we have on campus! On July 3, the whole camp participated in the "All Camp Cookout" to celebrate the 4th of July. Pluto’s Echo’s performanced at Willow Grove Day Camp on Friday, July 6th! The band,  comprised of 14 year olds from Doylestown,  played songs ranging from The Beatles to Foster to the People, that had campers and staff members clapping and singing along with the tunes!
