El Castillo de Bragança, uno de los más representativos de la arquitectura medieval, fue construido en 1409 por orden de D. João I, sobre unos cimientos de la época del primer rey de Portugal, D. Afonso Henriques.
Está considerado Monumento Nacional de Portugal
Compuesto por una imponente Torre Principal y por una muralla doble, el conjunto está muy bien conservado y la plaza de armas, conocida como ciudadela o villa, en la que se sitúan la Iglesia de Santa Maria y la Domus Municipalis, mantiene el antiguo conjunto de casas medievales de calles estrechas y pequeñas viviendas encaladas de blanco.
La torre del Homenaje impone, la de la Princesa teje leyendas, el entorno, con la Domus Municipalis, la iglesia de Santa María y el verraco, forman un conjunto mágico.

To make this panorama, two Panoramic images were used, one of the sky taken in my first Workshop on site in 2019 and the second in the last Workshop, in Aug/21.
In 2019 the sky was perfect but the Fortaleza Canyon was very foggy. In Aug/21 the sky was a little cloudy but the visibility of the Canyon was perfect. In this image we can see the union of these two moments.
The two panoramas used were taken at night, and in the second, used for the terrain, there was a moon in the sky, which helped to obtain an adequate exposure for the terrain even at 9 pm.
The Fortaleza Canyon is a giant 7km long and 900 meters deep in some stretches. Being in a place like this is an amazing experience, especially at night and under the stars.

Perfect night at Fortaleza Canyon in Cambará do Sul, Brazil.
Located within the Serra Geral National Park, Fortaleza Canyon is one of the largest in Latin America.
After two rainy nights and a lot of fog, my students and I decided to go up to the Fortaleza lookout for a section on Landscape Astrophotography. Despite the cold and poor conditions at the beginning of the night, after midnight we were awarded with a perfect condition to photograph the Milky Way over one of the most beautiful canyons in Brazil.

Milky Way core over Fortaleza Canyon.
This night photography section at Canion Fortaleza was one of the most technically challenging I have ever participated in. Due to the fog that covered the 900 meters deep of this Canyon, the humility of the air was so great that it fogged the lenses before the end of the captures. Getting images with the landscape well exposed was an arduous task but we managed to produce some beautiful images.

It was such a large fortress - its walls stretched for 1.2 kilometers and were flanked by 28 large towers - that its inhabitants decided in the 14th century to build a smaller castle inside, since they could not cover the entire defensive zone. The Gormaz fortress, the largest of the fortresses built in Europe in the 10th century.
This is the Fortaleza de Sagres, located near Sagres in the Algarve region of Portugal. This historic fortress was originally built in the 15th century under Prince Henry the Navigator and played a key role in Portugal's maritime discoveries. Its strategic location offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and surrounding cliffs. Today, it serves as a popular tourist attraction, combining history, breathtaking landscapes, and a connection to Portugal's Age of Exploration.#FortalezaSagres #AlgarveViews #PortugalAdventure
