The red-brick pillbox is probably the one that people first think of when they think of these second world war defences. Rather far from being constructed entirely from red brick, this readily available material is used as a form of shuttering with a core of concrete.
In this example of a Type 24, large precast concrete lintels have been used above the loopholes and door to the rear. Interestingly, the floor of this pillbox has been laid in red brick and not the characteristic concrete as is often seen.

The Broadway Subway is an extension of the Millennium Line and a key link in Metro Vancouver’s transportation system.
The 5.7-kilometre line will extend the existing SkyTrain system seamlessly from VCC-Clark Station and will be tunneled beneath the most congested section of the Broadway Corridor to a new terminus station at Arbutus Street.
The Project is funded and delivered by the Government of B.C., with contributions from the Government of Canada and the City of Vancouver.
The Broadway Subway project is a key part of the rapid transit program in Metro Vancouver’s Mayors’ Council 10-Year Vision. The Vision is funded by the governments of B.C. and Canada, TransLink, and local municipalities.

TECON Climbing formwork system mainly includes Self-climbing Formwork TSC80, Jump Climbing Formwork CB180/240, Dam Formwork DB180/240 and Multi-function Climbing Formwork MB180.
Self-climbing formwork TSC80 can climb by itself via hydraulic cylinder, while Formwork CB180/240 can only climb via tower crane lift. Dam Formwork DB180/240 can fabricate both single side wall and double side wall without any tie rod pull through. Multi-function Climbing Formwork MB180 is always guided by its rail during climbing, and it can climb freely with or without tower crane lift sine it has its own mobile hydraulic cylinder.
They are widely used in high-rise buildings, bridge pylons, concrete tanks and other civil engineering project.
The modular All Steel Form Panels are bolted together to form vertical strips. The 'Soldier Panels' are then bolted to the backs of form panels to provide enough strength so that the form only requires Anchors below and above the concrete pour. The full height Panel strip is then crane handled into position and attached to the panel unit next to it. This Heavy Duty method of Construction does away with the need form any Form Ties in the concrete wall.
These walls are to become a new below ground radiation suite as part of the Royal Marsden Cancer Hospital at Sutton in Surrey.
