BERGEN i dag.
Det er vanskelig å tenke seg den lyslokkede hjelpepleierske Lene Bakke på Neevengården sykehus i Bergen dukke opp fra dypet av Olavsgruvene på Røros med hjelm og gruvelykt, svart i fjeset og på nevene etter en stri arbeidsdag med malmskufla i strossa.
I dag er hun kledd i ulastelig hvit kittel, steller med pasientene og koser for dem. Det var hennes første dag på sykehuset i går - i en feriejobb som hun skal ha til 1. august.
Da må hun tilbake til Trondheim, hvor hun som den tredje kvinnelige formann i Studentersamfunnets 60-årige historie skal svinge klubba ved styrebordet i høstsemesteret.
Den unge Trondheims-jenta har altså prøvd litt av hvert. Også det å være vaskekone på NTH. Men da må Lene Bakke le:
- Det var da jeg gikk på gymnaset at jeg to somrer tok feriejobb med renhold på høgskolen. Det var det hele.
- Men det var alvor med arbeidet i gruva?
- Ja, i høy grad. Etter artium arbeidde jeg i 10 måneder i gruvene på Røros for å få praksis til berglinja på NTH.
- Hardt arbeid?
- Det var det nok. Men det var et flott arbeid, og der traff jeg de mest fantastiske mennesker jeg noensinne har møtt. Det miljøet som Johan Falkberget har skildret, lever virkelig fremdeles, og jeg trivdes storartet i det. Men mente da også at jeg skulle kunne bli bergingeniør, og jeg studerte på NTH under professor Magne Mortenson ett år. I fjor sommer jobbet jeg også på verkstedet på Løkken Verk. Gruvearbeidet var nok overordentlig interessant, men studiene var ikke det jeg hadde tenkt, og så brøt jeg tvert av.
- Da var det altså slutt på strossa?
- Jeg var blitt mer klar over meg selv. Det var sosialkurator jeg måtte bli, og i fjor høst fikk jeg arbeid på Haukåsen sykehus i Trondheim, og jeg har søkt om opptak på Sosialskolen i Trondheim. Blir jeg ikke opptatt i år, søker jeg på nytt neste år. Der gir jeg meg ikke. Og mens jeg venter på hvorledes det går med søknaden, har jeg altså fått feriejobb på Neevengaarden. Det gir god praksis, og psykiatri har jeg alltid vært interessert i. Samtidig får jeg anledning til å lære Bergen å kjenne - min far er nemlig Bergenser.
- Studentersamfunnet i Trondheim har tidligere alltid vært et utpreget teknisk betont mannssamfunn.
- Det er det ikke lenger. Siri Nansen var den første kvinnelige formann i 50-åra, for to år siden var Unn Laukvik formann. Det var tre kvinner med i styret i vårsemesteret, der jeg var sekretær, og i mitt styre er det også med en annen kvinne.
- Nå er det altså lett for en kvinne å bli formann i Studentersamfunnet i Trondheim?
- Så helt lett var det ikke. Som motkandidat hadde jeg Rød Front, og det var dessuten en konservativ kandidat som stilte opp mest for syns skyld. Mot sedvane foreslo jeg meg selv som formann, la fram mitt program - og det var ikke politisk - og så sa ikke jeg mer den kvelden. Men jeg ble altså valgt.
- Og programmet for høstsemestret?
- Vi skal jo ha immatrikuleringsmøte 1. september. Seinere kommer bl.a. Jan Otto Johansen, Erik Grønseth og Arthur Klæboe, og et interessant møte blir det nok med Lasse Efskind og oberstløytnant Eystein Fjærli som innledere. Ellers blir det bursdagsmøte i anledning av de 60 årene, og mange 50-års jubilanter vil vi få med der. Det blir et orkestermøte og noe vi kaller rammemøte - et slags høstlig karneval.

Lene Bakke, Bergen, fyller 70 år 7. februar.
Bakke er født i Trondheim, begynte i 1971 på sosionomlinjen ved Sosialskolen i Stavanger og arbeidet innen barnevernet i Nord-Rogaland, samtidig som hun var med på å bygge opp sosionomenes faglige organisasjon, NOSO, i distriktet.
I 1979 ble hun lærer ved sosialhøyskolen i Trondheim og i 1986 avla hun hovedfag i Sosialt arbeid ved Universitetet i Trondheim.
I 1989 ble hun valgt til yrkesfaglig ansvarlig i NOSO, og arbeidet for at de tre "høyskolegruppene" på det sosialfaglige feltet - skulle samles i ett forbund. Da denne visjonen ble realisert med opprettelsen av Fellesorganisasjonen i 1992, var hun yrkesforbundsleder for sosionomene fram til 1996, da hun begynte som lektor i sosialt arbeid ved Høyskolen i Oslo. Hun ble prosjektleder ved Høyskolen i Bergen, med oppdrag å etablere et helt nytt tverrfaglig studium innen rusproblematikk. Hun etablerte også et tverrfaglig studium innen psykisk utviklingshemning og aldring. Begge disse videreutdanningene ble stående som nybrottsarbeid ved HiB. I perioden 2003 til 2007 satt Lene Bakke i Universitets- og høyskolerådet, hvorav to år som leder for helse- og sosialfagene. Fra 2005 til 2012 satt hun i Nasjonalt råd for kvalitet og prioritering i helsetjenestene.
