Saturday Shenanigans

Today while driving home from a friends graduation party I passed through a frequented intersection downtown near my apartment, and being the attentive driver that I am I looked both ways as I was crossing. You never know who may be lurking just waiting to dart across the road, so as I looked to the right I saw a tyrannosaurus rex starring me down (which brought a smile to my face and told me to turn around immediately!) So I pulled off the nearest side street that I could knowing that I had a great photo op presenting itself to me, I just had to rush down the sidewalk hoping the rex was still in stride. To much glee he was, and also with him two ladies (Chelsea in green and Sara in blue). I explained my concept of snapping photos of strangers and they were more then willing to participate.

Obviously no posing or simple headshots today as I wanted to give an overall feel of the scene. The tyrannosaurs skeleton was purchased a garage sale and although deemed for "little kids," Chelsea and Sara were struggling with assembling the final piece of the puzzle. Legs are most important for humans as they are for dinosaurs, they allow us to stand up right and stand still and stalk their prey. Once the legs were affixed to the point that the dino could stand upright without assistance I was told that it was now time to move him into place. A game of the timeless classic "ding dong ditch" was in order and the t-rex was to be left on the front porch. as I followed the ladies to their friends house my adrenaline started to jump. So much excitement and happiness through my body, I couldn't keep still but I had to keep up and keep quiet, I clicked a few frames shortly after Sara left the dino on the porch and then I ran and hid behind some bushes to see the reaction.

"That's awesome" their friend exclaimed, as we all giggled he looked around and saw no one. But spoke loudly to his assumptions as to who might have placed this glorious gift upon his porch. Eventually Chelsea and Sara came out of hiding and I left with a new set of strangers in camera. Be sure to check out the work in the 100 strangers group as you never know who might turn up!
