Bold, geometric birds in shades of blue and purple soar across a vibrant pink background. The background features abstract patterns with squares and circles, adding depth and contrast.

Saturday, 31 October 2020: our temperature at 10:30 am is PLUS 2C, (windchill -2C)! Sunrise is at 8:28 am and sunset is at 6:10 pm. A mix of sun and cloud this morning.
Happy, safe Halloween, everyone! I suspect that this year, Halloween will be rather different. When I was driving down my street yesterday, I saw practically no pumpkins or spooky decorations in gardens. At least the weather is reasonable today for any children and their parents who are going out Trick-or-treating.
Yesterday, 30 October 2020, I discovered some sort of Halloween challenge that children and their parents could take part in. A short visit to Carburn Park, which rarely happens for me, resulted in something very different from what I was expecting. There were two or three bird species that I was kind of hoping I might see, but none were to be seen. Two other people who were searching had not found them either, though they had found them there the previous day.
Instead, I came home with photos of this skull, a dinosaur skull, and a skeleton of an alien. All items were part of the kids' treasure hunt. At least this visit gave me a few photos to post for Halloween, so I went home happy.
