Grand Forks, BC - downtown.........unfortunately didn't have time to try the Borscht.........
...........The Doukhobors immigrated to Canada in 1899 after experiencing religious persecution and restriction of personal freedom in their homeland of Russia. After first settling in Saskatchewan, the Doukhobors began to move into the Kootenay region of British Columbia and the Grand Forks area between the years of 1909-1913..............Grand Forks Doukhobour heritage..............and made lots of borscht......

My mom loved entertaining and so enjoyed her accumulation of a full set of Gorham Strasburg silverware. I hadn't opened the box since I brought it back from Kentucky last March. I am thankful that she had things of beauty to relish. And I'm thank for the scavenger hunt for making me celebrate the little moments.
