Tucked away within Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park, the North Fork Falls trail offers a walk back through time. As you follow the path, you're tracing the rugged early-20th-century history of coal mining in Western Washington. The trail leads you to a true PNW gem, North Fork Falls, which gracefully plunges into Coal Creek.
The signals formerly guarding the junction between the line to Syracuse and the line to Utica still stand tall in Chenango Forks, as CL-X passes headed south for Binghamton.
CSXT 4711 south emerges from the south portal of Caney Fork Tunnel as they slow to hold back of Big Spraddle crossing for a meet with M692. The spur to McClure Lumber used to come off here to the right.
Well, really this is a La Push forest. The trail leading to Third Beach was ghostly foggy in the late afternoon.
Roaring Fork Falls, near Mount Mitchell and the Blue Ridge Parkway, NC.
One of my favourite views from my trip to NC; a beautiful cascade, zigzagging down the slope, with a lush covering of moss on the rocks.
As the evening approaches, another of a seemingly endless parade of TV trains rolls west out of South Fork, Pennsylvania. In the distance is the former PRR SO tower.
New BNSF EMD SD70ACe No. 8595 leads a westbound coal train over the Clark Fork between Thompson Falls and Belknap, Montana, on October 1, 2014.

Had this shot in my mind for a while now, but it was much harder to pull off than I was expecting, it may get a revisit at some point.
MacroMonday theme - Metallic
Five forks lined up against a wall, and lit by a torch to give an interesting shadow.

The West Fork hiking trail in Sedona offers some stunning scenery. Towering canyon walls, red rocks galore, and plenty of stream crossings where you get to jump from rock to rock. The trail is 7-8 miles in and out, and plan for 26 stream crossings in total! Make sure to bring your camera and also make sure not to drop it in a stream!
Another from my forks session. Trying to create an abstract series with the simple table fork. These were all shot on a mirrored table with black backcloth and illuminated with a multiple LED light.
