I am so happy these are all completed. This is not how they will be displayed in the Container but I like this arrangement as well.
I have a series of posts on my blog for further details about this project.

These are part of a series of twenty-five altered books I am working on. It combines a set of encyclopedias with found objects from nature. The work will be displayed in mid-August at the container art show in Vancouver.
At last I have finished installing my work for the Container Art show at the PNE. More photos and a description on my blog.

This stuff is so hard to flake, it’s so low quality, it’s also incredibly difficult to acquire and rare to find in creeks. I wish I knew someone who had an outcropping on their land. I have some kind of obesssion with #normanskill #chert. I think it might just be a magic stone. #paleo #paleoindians #flintknapping #ancientways #forgottenknowledge #crafts ift.tt/2inREUI
Six more of the books I've completed as part of the series of twenty-five. I have twenty-one of the books completed (as of today) with the other four two be finished by the end of the week. I have a few more pieces to figure out for the installation of the work. Things are going well so far.

This is a shot of the outside of the Container Art gallery at the PNE made of stacked shipping containers. Twelve of these (on ground level) contain installations by local Vancouver artists.

Decided to make a more accurate replica of a #hidescraper out of #normanskill #chert for #leatherworking and #hideworking. A very pretty flower and seed pod commonly found in Korean gardens is related to a story about a pet who was let out everyday and disappeared for several hours then returned. One day while alone, I decided to follow the pet on a journey to a secret place in the woods only known to this pet. I never forgot what I discovered in the place where the pet traveled to and totally understood why remaining for hours was a habit for this animal who had been part of my life for many years. It's impossible to explain what I discovered but do know that the pretty flower in the picture makes finding the path through the woods impossible.
