Even though we remain hovering right at the freezing point, early this morning big, fluffy, and wet snowflakes began to fall, continuing even now and providing a beautiful, fresh white accent to the landscape...the northwoods' annual celebration of the season. This shot, as with so many others over the years, taken from my deck.
[This is also the time of year at which I get confused as to whom I've wished Season's Greetings and to whom I have not. Forgive me if I repeat myself and, in the spirit of the holidays, be patient with an old man, accepting good wishes however often they may be repeated. It's the thought, not the memory, that counts. ;-))]

This image is from one of the better hikes in Petrified Forest National Park called Blue Mesa Trail. I would love to offer up some death-defying horror story of how I scrambled to a cliff edge and almost died for this image, but it would be malarkey (forgive the foul language). This is actually taken from a very safe and comfortable overlook with railings and everything. I know, where is the fun in that? So, yes, this composition is popular, Still, it is popular for a reason, and now I have my own version of this iconic scene. I actually had this same image with people down there too, but this seemed to much more true to the place. I feel like this landscape seems so alien, so inhospitable, that it is far better suited to be alone. I am sure many will argue it is indeed teaming with life, but it sure does not feel that way. So here you go. Alone. The only friend this strange place has is color.
Forgive my Silence..But I've had the shivers down my spine..
- Because...My wifi has been down for a WEEK (and 4G the only option...Flickr has been less active for me :( )
I hope that's all fixed now and show you my next Creep. With Halloween coming closer will these Creeps appear more in my stream , as always do I have a certain love for my Creeps <3

Forgive me for a moment - So I needed to just do something different, outlandish, dramatic dark, devilish and possibly creative. Breaking all the likely photography rules of processing but it was a pure joy of creative release. This is what I do when I go to the dark place and mood. It was a hellish day today! Hope you like (or hate). Any and all reactions means success. HaHa

for I have sinned. I selectively ignored the request from the priest while attending my niece's confirmation yesterday. I could feel the heat rising from hell as I photographed this special day from the occasional glances of Father. While considering it to be a small sin, I decided to take the chance, realizing that I might be stuck in purgatory for a bit. But just knowing that my niece will have a beautiful framed 5x7 hung on her wall from that moment in her life, made it worth the risk.
As I sat in the back row, in the corner which I always do when photographing events such as this, I'm always looking for things of interest and moving about in stealth mode for the shot, and quietly sitting back down. With this image, I was fortunate enough to be seated by gentlemen from the Color Guard of the Knights of Columbus. While in wait and sabers placed on their laps, I found another sinful delight to please my wicked ways. I'm going to hell for sure!

Last weekend Filou disappeared from the garden for the first time. Before that he had never shown any intention to explore the world beyond the fence and given the fact that he is a scaredy cat, we all thought that he was safer at home. When he suddenly disappeared my sister panicked and we all had to go and look for Filou. That was hopeless as it was dark and there are lots of possibilities for a cat to hide out there. You can't go into other people's backyards in the middle of the night to seach for your cat. Filou returned home the next morning. He was wet and tired but not extremely nervous. I really thought that after this episode he would try to see more of the world outside his garden asap but so far he has made no new effort to climb over the fence.
It's a very busy week for me, so please forgive me if I don't manage to comment on all your photos.
