Forever 21 (25,035 square feet)
701 Lynnhaven Parkway, Suite E-07A, Lynnhaven Mall, Virginia Beach, VA
This location opened in fall 2008 and closed in April 2025; it occupies what was originally three different tenants:
The left part of the store within the mall was originally a Spencer Gifts, which opened on June 9th, 1982 and relocated here in the mid 2000s.
The right part of the store within the mall was originally an American Eagle Outfitters, which opened in the early 1980s and relocated here in the mid 2000s.
The back exterior-facing stretch of the store was originally the majority of Lynnhaven United Artists Cinemas 6, which opened on January 28th, 1983 and closed in 1998. It became a DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse in the late 1990s, which relocated here in 2002, then became the majority of a Freedom Electronics (previously confined to this space), which closed in the mid 2000s.
The store operated as a Spirit Halloween from August 19th, 2025 to November 3rd, 2025.

I wasn't aware that a Forever 21 existed in Williamsburg until I saw it on a closing list, which I doubted was actually going out of business until I saw a TikTok of the closing sale taking place. The store seemed to be conducting its' final days of business when I finally decided to drop by, as everything was 90% off and the remaining merchandise was moved to just a few fixtures and boxes towards the front of the salesfloor. The remainder of the salesfloor was mostly empty, with bare fixtures and boxes of hangers moved against the walls. And based on the few photos I found of original tenant Bass online, it looks like Forever 21 did the bare minimum to the store's buildout when they moved in, as they seemed to have kept the carpeting and flood lights intact. It's very appropriate for a fast-fashion company like Forever 21 to give their outlet store this half-assed aesthetic!
