Bois du Breuil, Forest of Breuil. A rich forest, part of the commune of Équemauville and overlooking the communes (towns/villages) of Honfleur, Vasouy and Pennedepie as well as the River Seine. It belonged to the Dukes of Normandy until 1204 when King Philippe Auguste conquered Normandy and the forest passed to the French kings. Located 4km from Honfleur, the Bois du Breuil is one of the rare forests on the coastline and is open to the public. This forest, covering 120 hectares, is the property of the Conservatoire du Littoral (Coastal Conservancy). Great variety of species (32 listed species including oak, beech, Scots pine and maritime pine), a fine population of naturalised rhododendrons, large 1,200m path lined with beech trees dating from 1850. Preserved natural wealth thanks to meticulous management in keeping with nature. Access via the RD62 (Equemauville-Pennedepie road). 2 car parks. Round trip, approximately 5km, offering superb views over the Seine bay. www.conservatoire-du-littoral.fr/siteLittoral/115/28-bois... and www.calvados-tourisme.co.uk/diffusio/en/discover/natural-...

Captured at Les Laquettes, in the Néouvielle range, Hautes-Pyrénées. A fallen trunk anchors the foreground, resting on a dirt trail lined with young pines and scattered rocks. The lake is calm and clear, reflecting the blue sky and surrounding forested slopes. In the background, wooded ridges rise with rocky outcrops. Bright daylight, complete silence—untouched nature where water, wood, and granite meet

Summer is gone and autumn is just around the corner.

Early morning in the "Kaapse Bossen", this forest is part of the National Park Utrecht Hill Ridge that stretches from Driebergen to Rhenen.

This typical english autumnal image in Twigmoor Woods, North Lincolnshire. My goal for the morning shoot was to capture some tree shots and undertake a scouting mission to find locations to come back later in the year when there is some snow on the ground. However, it goes to show that it pays to stop and look down every now and then.

HR:

Dok sunce lagano proviruje kroz guste krošnje, jutarnja šetnja sa Srećkom vodi nas uskim putićem prema suhozidu i ostacima bizantske vile pokraj Šila. Tišina, miris borova i pjesma ptica stapaju se u savršen sklad prirode i povijesti. U ovim trenucima, male stvari postaju velike – koraci, dah, pogled prema moru.

As the sun peeks through the treetops, a morning walk with my dog Srećko takes us down a narrow trail, past dry stone walls, toward the remnants of a Byzantine villa near Šilo. The air is fresh, birds are singing, and time seems to slow down. These small moments are the real treasures.

Forest walk in the morning (Holmfirth, West Yorkshire)

Captured at Les Laquettes, in the Néouvielle Nature Reserve. The lake’s clear water reveals submerged rocks and pebbles near the shore. On the left, tall pines line the edge; on the right, a steep rocky slope rises, covered with alpine vegetation. The sky is mostly clear with scattered clouds. A high-altitude scene blending mineral clarity and forest density.

The Moniack burn that runs through Reelig glen in the Highlands of Scotland

I just had to capture this fallen silver birch tree. To me it looks like it is being engorged by the forest floor and the branches are like arms, desperately trying to heave the tree out of the impending doom.
