Had a great day yesterday - birthday pressie from my wife - an eagle photography day at Rosliston Forestry centre in Derbyshire. Up close and personal with these magnificent birds - walked all over the estate with the birds posed in various locations for portraits and a couple of different chances to photograph them in flight. It rained in the afternoon but not too bad and nothing stopped the action! Here's the first photo - I have so many I couldn't even choose what might be the best so just picked a random one. No processing apart from a minor adjustment to the levels.
This is a male Golden Eagle. I took it with my 70-300 zoom with pond reeds in the background. I rather like the little rain droplets on his head and the little splashes coming off the beak
