Allá por septiembre del año pasado aún estaban los bosques primaverales. Así que como había llovido bastante esa semana nos embarcamos @juanmanuelfernandezlopez_ @mikellarreabarquero y yo mismo en una pequeña aventura. Además, como sabréis, imparten talleres por esa zona que pocos conocen tan bien.

Uno de los lugares donde menos tímido es el otoño es en el Valle de Benasque. Un lugar este, el de las Gorgas de Alba, que parece sacado de un cuento. Os aseguro que ninguna foto le puede hacer justicia. En cuanto a la imagen, el encuadre quizás arriesgado dejando demasiado espacio en la parte de arriba, pero es donde estaba el ambiente, así que decidí dejarlo así. De todas formas, tengo tantas de esa mañana que alguna diferente ya publicaré más adelante. Ahora no quería dejar pasar el otoño sin tener en la colección una de esta colorida estación. Además tuvimos la suerte de encontrarnos casi siempre con unas atmósferas increíbles. A mi lado estaban @rafadiez78 y @mardonss

Esa tarde de un viernes que fuimos a buscar las más que probablemente más espectaculares vistas de Euskadi, nos sorprendió una niebla que no dejaba ver más allá de 50m. Al menos lo compensó con creces la compañía de @iraiphotography @zetaerreargazkiak y @jorgereyazabal . Gracias amigos!!. This typical english autumnal image in Twigmoor Woods, North Lincolnshire. My goal for the morning shoot was to capture some tree shots and undertake a scouting mission to find locations to come back later in the year when there is some snow on the ground. However, it goes to show that it pays to stop and look down every now and then.

Foto tomada el 20/11/2021, casi no logro recordar el momento en el que hice esta foto. Pero seguro que fue con @mardonss y llevábamos aún mascarilla en el coche. El caso es que rebuscando por el disco duro para seguir practicando las técnicas enseñadas por el máster @juanmanuelfernandezlopez_ en su taller de procesado, me la encontré junto con otras cuantas más. Ya le he encargado otro curso personalizado para seguir aprendiendo. Muchas veces gastamos cantidades innecesarias en aparatos y cachivaches que apenas usamos y nos olvidamos de lo más importante, la formación. Da igual el nivel, seguir aprendiendo para mejorar es parte de esta maravillosa afición.

I just had to capture this fallen silver birch tree. To me it looks like it is being engorged by the forest floor and the branches are like arms, desperately trying to heave the tree out of the impending doom.

So as I'm unpacking from Brickcon, I keep finding things with little back stories... so here's another one:
There's a game called 101 Pieces - you show up and you bring 101 pieces and they tell you what to build. Sounds fun! So I put together a little package that consisted of mainly Travis bricks, clips and (apparently) too many light saber bars. My plan was that I could basically build a skeletal shape of pretty much anything I wanted.
Nick (Brickthing) coming from New Zealand didn't have time to make his own set, so I put together two exact copies, so we could go head to head ;)
What I didn't know was that you didn't have an hour to build one thing. You had 3 minutes each thing, doing it 10 times... yeah so my strategy would have sucked. So I went to the Blind Build finals instead (and beat Lego Junkie ;). But I still had the two sets so I gave them to Aaron and Forest to play.
Being the builders that they are, they said nuts to this 'build what I say crap' and they built their own thing for that hour. Nick swung by later and added his build with the remainder of the left over pieces that Aaron/Forest didn't use....
So using my 202 pieces they built three positively iconic builds:
Forest - Master of Mechs and hardsuits - a bitch'n robo-dog
Aaron - Starfighter God - built a VV
Nick - using the just scraps, built an old man - but what gets me is the evocation of feeling he squeezed into his build - so Nick.

The Bench actually commemorates the 18th century New Forest Master Keeper, the Duke of Bolton, and it attracts many visitors who come to sit under the giant yew tree at the top and take in the views.
Looking west from the top you will see the centre of Lyndhurst town, and looking east you will see a great view of the Open Forest heathlands.
The hill is surrounded by open grassy lawns on which New Forest ponies and donkeys graze.
A village cricket green can be seen on the eastern side, beyond that starts the heather and gorse covered sandy heathlands of White Moor.
