1961 Chevrolet Corvette

By 1961, the Corvette had evolved into a very credible sports car. Styling was carefully updated under GM design chief Bill Mitchell with a subtle new grille design, while the new rear end treatment foreshadowed the upcoming Sting Ray with a neat ducktail design incorporating four cylindrical taillights. In addition, the growing list of standard equipment now included a tachometer, seat belts, sun visors, dual exhaust, carpeting, an electric clock, outside rearview mirror and an aluminum radiator.
This brawny 1961 Corvette displays an older, yet very well presented resto-mod refinish in silver and white side coves over black interior upholstery. A white vinyl top, cowl hood, vintage Firestone Firehawk radials, steel wheels and chrome wheel covers complete the presentation.
Cabin amenities include a tachometer, clock, defroster, AM/FM radio with premium sound system, and Hurst t-handle shifter. The car’s small-block V8 engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission provides more than enough power to get this vette up and going in a hurry!
The older restoration has begun to show its age in areas, but remains well suited for continued use as an attention grabbing weekend cruiser. This Corvette is sure to please its new owner with a great combination of timeless styling, performance and modern upgrades.

Talk about foreshadowing , all they talked about on the ride was baseball . Hello folks , the Tour De France with Lance Armstrong was going on . Good grief , the Cubs and the White Sox aren't that great , only Cole even knew the tour was on . Cole rocks , what a help he was to everyone .

The use of Spoons as a musical instrument was probably foreshadowed by the similar use of two animal bones.
Spoons are sometimes heard in Irish Traditional Music sessions, although their presence is not universally popular. See the lyrics of Con Ó Drisceoil’s song “The Spoons Murder” See: www.ceolupnorth.co.uk/spoons.html.
Spoons are assigned the number 111.14 in the Hornbostel-Sachs classification of musical instruments ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hornbostel-Sachs ), indicating:
1 = Idiophones. Sound is primarily produced by the actual body of the instrument vibrating, rather than a string, membrane, or column of air.
11 = Struck Idiophones. These idiophones are set in vibration by being struck.
111 = Directly Struck Idiophones. The player himself executes the movement of striking; whether by mechanical intermediate devices, beaters, keyboards, or by pulling ropes, etc.
111.1 = Concussion Idiophones or clappers. Two or more complementary sonorous parts are struck against each other.
111.14 = Concussion vessels or vessel clappers.
These storm coulds were amazing and felt like I could reach out and grab them... t'was like a foreshadowing of things going on and coming up in my world.
With the value of the dollar being "weak" .. upon further inspection of Washington's face on the dollar .. does it almost kind of look like he saw it coming? Iol Of course he couldn't have known back then but t's like his face foreshadowed something ..

A photograph over Utah during my Boston to San Francisco flight foreshadowing our upcoming canyon hikes.
Our 2013 summer vacation consisted of taking the Amtrack California Zephyr train from San Francisco to Green River, Utah. Hiking Arches National Park, Dead Horse Park, and Canyonlands State Park. Then hopping back on the train and taking it to Denver where we would tour the Rocky Mountain National Park. All in one week.
"Who would think that those branches would turn green again and blossom? Yet we hope it and we know it. We will see them again on that day."

After the rain, I went out to my backyard to photograph. I saw our garage wall had gotten wet from the rain and thought it would be interesting for pictures. I like how it turned out....didn't know it would be so ominous.

I took this at 6 in the morn at Merritt's Bakery before my flight. Foreshadowing much? CAKES KNOW EVERYTHING!
On quick observation, this shot might appear very similar to the last in the series. I can assure you of two things. First. Quick observation is often crap. And secondly, there are many hints in this shot as to the lengths you might go to solve some of the problems you'll encounter on the path to completing a book.
Notably near, is a drill with a very very fine bit. With a drill alone you are more likely to irreparably damage your project and possibly injure yourself. I guess I should come back to the drill later.
The extremely crafty among you will notice black buttons. I won't even hint at what I used them for in this project (photos will come in the new year) but bear this in mind. You can use almost anything to hold a book together. Buttons. Snaps. Rivets. Screws. Rope. Wire. Thread. Twist ties. Pipe cleaners. Old USB cable. Your own braided hair. Elastics. The braided hair of someone else ... you get the idea.
You should notice something that looks like a tape dispenser. It isn't. I don't suggest using much tape, unless it's archival and high quality. What you do see, is a glue dot dispenser. These little suckers can come in very handy. Very quick to use. I still question their longevity, and I'm pretty sure they aren't archival, but sometimes they solve problems that seem tricky to impossible any other way.
Now, look closely. On the very edges of this photograph, top left, you'll see an old piece of crappy, maple photocopied MDF. Upon this boring MDF scrap, is a book cover. On the book cover, my book block, consisting of one large signature. If you've been following along, you'll see the paper providing colour and logo support on the cover is used again here to wrap the left side of the book block. But on top of that ... ?
Wax paper. You can't see it at all. Very boring.
But on the wax paper is a trusty set of quick grip clamps. Only after you've clamped the ever loving hell out of your book should you ever conceive of using power tools. Power tools, like the aforementioned drill.
In the case of the button and thread binding (there, I said it) I've conceived of here, and in many others (Japanese stab, for instance) ... clamps and a drill will save your life. And your eternal soul.

This canebrake rattlesnake was found coiled, as shown, in the damp leaf litter, deep in a cycle of ecdysis. The first of six for the day, this was found less than 40yards from camp, about 10min after we started hiking, foreshadowing a very memorable day.
