are there any liens or encumbrances on this property?
well, if there ever were, they were paid off, oh, about 800 years ago.
yeah? so how much equity is there in it now?
dunno, but it needs a little work.

Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Department was called to the 300 Block of Glenwood Ct. in Algonquin, for a reported structure fire at a vacant home. A neighbor reported flames coming out of the front door and window. Huntley Fire Protection District and Crystal Lake Fire/Rescue responded for auto-aid.
Algonquin, Illinois
News article obtained from the Northwest Herald:
ALGONQUIN – An abandoned Algonquin house caught fire for the second time within two years, causing roughly $15,000 in damage.
Firefighters from the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District responded to a fire at 370 Glenwood Ct. at roughly 8:28 p.m. Tuesday after a neighbor reported smoke and flames coming from the door, according to a release from the fire protection district.
Fire crews extinguished the blaze from the outside of the structure before entering to check for additional fire or potential victims, though responders were notified the structure was vacant. A previous fire in May 2012 at the house resulted in minor injuries for a firefighter.
Foreclosure proceedings on the house started in 2009.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, according to the release. Huntley, Carpentersville and Crystal Lake fire departments provided assistance.
