This was a series of #legodirtytroopers experiments with Ice Fountain Fireworks (birthday cake fireworks) that I did two months ago. I bought one pack to experiment with (one pack contains 4 ice fountains). Each one lasts for approximately 40 seconds. And I was surprised after my first attempt that none of the minifigures doesn't get burned. So now I keep to use my Stormtroopers in my photographs. More information coming on on my Facebook Page.
Dirty effect on the stormtroopers was achieved with the use of

I'm sure you'll remember, when Kithaba was on his way to meet the Sand People. Her only weapon in the negotiations was fire. Although, it is said that the Sand People are well equipped when it comes to weapons, this time they were afraid.
Previously in this series: Day of Reckoning, Traces to Nowhere and Fire Walk with Me.
I've been playing with this exact frame roughly from the day I shoot it. It's interesting frame that looks a bit like it's from the cinematic cartoon magazine(!). At least, there are some certain elements that backs my humble theory. Personally I'm very proud of that torch, as it's all in-camera and there are no digital effects used to bring this scene alive.
I really enjoy photographing the sandy planets, especially Tatooine. Photographing Jakku was a new challenge for me because Jakku looks a lot like Tatooine. But there is a slight difference between them. Jakku (for the most part) is all like the Dune Sea. Tatooine has caves and canyons.
So here are the results of photo shooting on Jakku (bluer and more saturated sky, sand dunes on the background and clearer weather). Hope you like it!
The sandy/dirty effect on the Luggabeast was achieved in Photoshop. I used different sizes and colors of explosion brush.

Enjoy your new toys!
First photo taken with my new setup - a repurpose TV stand. Gives me a lot more room to play with, though perhaps I should have dusted it before using. Oh well, next time.
Now to go get my wallet out and grab those new, Rogue One sets. Happy hunting!
Got this guy way ahead of the street date, but it took me until now to photograph him LOL.
Sorry I've been gone so much guys. I still check out everyone's pics when I can, but I just don't have time to come around much. I've had a really bad year.
Momaw Nadon is an Ithorian who was exiled from his homeworld Ithor, after he revealed secrets of Ithorian agricultural technology to the Galactic Empire. He spent much of his exile on Tatooine, and was seen in "Chalmun's Cantina" when Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi came searching for passage to Alderaan.
So I sadly wasn't able to go at midnight last night to Toys R Us because I had a project to do for school and stayed up most of the night for that, but I did go to the Lego Store right after school today and picked up these sets! It's a shame I missed out on the free exclusive Toys R Us Funko Pop shirt and Rogue One poster, but the Lego Store had double VIP points, so I now have $20 worth on my card! I'd say that's more worth it than a couple of free Star Wars items, but I dunno...you tell me. Anyway, I bought all the Rogue One sets I was originally planning on getting. I got the Imperial Assault Hovertank, the Rebel U-Wing Fighter, and last but not least...Director Krennic's Imperial Shuttle. All of these sets are absolutely fantastic.
I worked hard this summer to earn money, having Force Friday and these sets in mind. It was such a nice feeling taking these sets off the shelves and purchasing them, knowing I worked for them. Last year, I had no money at the time when Force Friday happened and needed to borrow some from my dad just to get Rey's Speeder. I am so thankful this year was a different story. Anyway, hope you all had a great Force Friday and were able to pick up some Rogue One Merchandise! That's all for now... :)
Since its #forcefriday I am posting an image from Star Tours at Disney's Hollywood Studios. This is an image I have always wanted to capture and I got a little bit of time before the Frozen Fireworks began. I hope you enjoy viewing this.
If you like what you see check out my website. www.nickbarese.com
I went to Target this morning and picked up the newly released Rey's Speeder set and Kylo Ren action figure!
Its just so exciting seeing merchandise for a new Star Wars movie! Its been 10 years since Revenge of The Sith, and I was too young to really participate in the fun of buying the new merchandise. I cant wait for The Force Awakens...Its gonna blow everyone's socks off and will make BILLIONS. Trust me...I can see it now...

Hello my batfamily or rebels....
So before Force Friday comes by, i wanted to make two figures of Ep:IV
to accompany my beloved Red Five X-wing.
So i made Luke, now first of all this is based after the pilot suit he used on A New Hope and a bit on Nate-M8 fig, i tried my best to put all the details on it even tho for me it looks kinda bad and messy.
Soo yeah, also this is painted on the pilot suit that came on the 9493 Set so i didn't use any of the new pilot suits.
I hope you kinda like it and as always any type of feedback is welcome.
Happy ForceFriday and
May the force be with ya....
Been a while since I posed on here, but I figured some of you might like to see my haul for Triple Force Friday this year. Managed to pick up almost everything I wanted, and it turned out to be a really great, successful Force Friday!!
I can't wait! I can't wait! I can't wait! I encountered this large BB-8 display a few months ago on Force Friday and really, really wanted to bring it home with me. I've been told the stores have strict instructions to destroy the displays or send them back to the manufacturer. Nooooooo!!

Okay so Force Friday was kind of a bust at TRU and Target at 12:01 am. I was 30th in line at TRU I was able to get a couple of 3 3/4" figures for my son. All my daughter wanted was 3 3/4 Ray no dice. The 6" line was gone as well. So I shot over to target not much there either. Now I went to work and around 11:00 I went to a Walmart that's right up the road. And I found all that's in the photo. They were just putting the toys out at 11:00am. So I really lucked out but someone had wiped out all the 6" troopers.
Found a few awesome figures this weekend so I thought I'd share! Couldn't find Black Series Kylo Ren or Captain Phasma but I'm sure they'll turn up soon

Here is what I did to create these Star Wars cookies...
I used Wilton gel colors for frosting - leaf green and black.
www.wilton.com/store/site/product.cfm?id=3E30B2D9-475A-BA...
I used silver dragees for Yoda's eyes.
I also used Williams Sonoma's Star Wars Cookie Cutters.
Here's the recipe I used (from my coworker Jen Fritzler)...
Sugar Cookies
(NOTE: This recipe doesn’t make many cookies, so I made two batches of this recipe.)
Ingredients:
1 3/4 cup flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
¾ cup sugar
1 stick of butter
1 egg
3/4 teaspoon vanilla
* Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
* Mix flour, salt and baking powder in one mixing bowl and put aside.
* Soften butter
* Mix butter with the sugar in another mixing bowl. Then mix in egg and vanilla until everything is thoroughly mixed.
* Slowly mix in the flour mixture into the butter/sugar/egg mixture.
*Wrap the dough in cling wrap and put it in the freezer for an half hour or so. Bake the cookies the same day you make the dough or else the dough gets dried out and it is difficult to roll out if you are cutting out shapes. You want the dough chilled so the cookies retain their shapes.
* Roll the cookies out to about 1/3 inch. Make sure you don’t overly flour the dough as you are rolling it out, or it becomes more difficult to reroll again.
* The recipe says the cookies should be in the oven for 10 minutes (on an ungreased baking pan - I use a silpat), but make sure you start checking on the cookies about 6-7 minutes in. You know the cookies are ready if you start seeing the bottom edges of the cookies start to slightly turn a light tan (if it is darker than a light tan, they are burning).
* Move the freshly baked cookies off of the baking pan as soon as it comes out of the oven, or else it will stick to the pan (unless you're using a silpat).
Royal Icing
Ingredients:
(NOTE - you must sterilize all of our equipment and materials when making Royal Icing. If there is a speck of grease or fat on anything, your icing will fail and not set)
4 cups of powdered sugar
3 tablespoons of meringue powder (you can get this at Meijer’s and Michael’s in the cake decorating section. This is what hardens and makes the icing shiny)
~6 tablespoons of warm water
1 plastic “ketchup” bottle (you can also get this at Meijer and Michael’s in the cake decorating section. It costs less than a dollar.)
Dye (if you want the icing to have a color)
* Use an electric mixer and mix powdered sugar, meringue powder and warm water together. Make sure you don’t over mix…you don’t want the icing to be “whipped.” Mixing it for about 1 minute is perfect.
* Check the consistency. (Use the 10 second rule! Read here.)
* When you think you have a good consistency, add the dye and mix for another 20 seconds. For Yoda I used Wilton's leaf green gel color with a little bit of black.
* Now it's time to frost the main color of each cookie. Take the plastic ketchup bottle and cut the very edge of the tip off (so that you have about ¼ inch diameter of an opening on the tip). Open the bottle and start spooning the icing into the bottle. (You might not want to fill the bottle in case you discover the icing is not the correct consistency.) Make sure that you put a damp paper towel over the remaining icing in the mixing bowl, or else it will dry up.
* Take a cookie and squeeze the icing bottle and trace around the perimeter of the cookie. If the icing is oozing off of the cookie, it means that you have too much water in the icing. You will need to dump the icing back into the mixing bowl and add more powdered sugar.
* After you have outlined the perimeter of the cookie, go back and “flood” in the rest of the cookie. If you are finding that the icing isn’t really flooding around the perimeter well (even when you try to help it along), it means you have too much baking powder. You need to dump the icing back into the mixing bowl and add a little more water.
* After you have iced the cookies with their main color (yoda = green, darth vader = black, storm trooper = white), you need to lay the cookies out overnight to dry and adding the final details.
* After the base color is dry, it's time to add the facial details. I used Wilton round decorating tip 1L or 1S. I found round 2 decorating tip to be too big.
* You can lightly lay wax paper or paper towel over the cookies as long as the top layers of the frosting is relatively dry. If you completely cover the cookies so that they don’t have access to air, the frosting won’t dry and the frosting tends to “wrinkle,” thus, ruining the cookies.
