Austria series: Foggy day

This photo was taken on a very foggy day at the end of October. The visibility was low, but suddenly the clouds opened and these trees with their beautiful fall colors emerged amidst the fog. A few moments later they disappeared again ...

🇩🇪 Dieses Foto wurde Ende Oktober, an einem sehr nebligen Tag, aufgenommen. Die Sicht war minimal, aber plötzlich öffneten sich die Nebelwolken und gaben den Blick auf diese Bäume in den schönsten Herbstfarben frei. Nach ein paar Sekunden war alles wieder im Nebel verschwunden ...

Austria series: Fairytale Castle

This photo was taken on a very foggy day at the end of October. The rolling fog added an eerie atmosphere to the famous Hohenwerfen Castle, which is situated on a hill in the Salzach valley.

🇩🇪 Dieses Foto wurde an einem sehr nebeligen Tag Ende Oktober aufgenommen. Der wabernde Nebel hüllte die Burg Hohenwerfen, die auf einem Hügel im Salzachtal gebaut wurde, in eine ganz besondere Stimmung.

Fun to compare with no fog night shot; note how fog mutes the arch lights of the more distant spans and reflection of the street lights off the bridge hand railing. Willamette River, Portland, OR NB52304

I know, I know- more Rock Island. This is my favorite of the bunch once I got my contrast right (I think)

Cannot get out of a photo funk I have been in of late. Apologies for no new shots and lack of activity in general. Keep waiting for life to slow down but alas it doesnt.

I posted quite a number of refuge/road/fog shots last year so I kept a few back- this is one of those redshirted photos. (We here in Bama love our football analogies)

Thanks to Wes (Bamawebster) and Josh (Furiousgeorge) for another great trip! Don't worry Anne; you didn't miss anything. The light was flat, the fog was too thick; really a waste of time. Managed to eek out a few shots though:)
