While Lance stopped to take pictures of the ocean in Bodega Bay, I saw a picture on the other side of the street. I liked how the fog was just sitting on the mountains.

Rhododendrons grow amongst the redwoods along the California coast. Fog regularly permiates the forest, giving these giants the perfect conditions in which to grow.
A spider web stuck along a tree and fence, in front of an old barn in the Boxley Valley Historic District. The district is along the upper portion of the Buffalo National River in Arkansas.
Spider webs were everywhere that weekend. I walked into several large webs (often face-first), which resulted in the sticky web covering my head like a veil. This shot was taken around dawn, when a thick layer of fog was covering the valley.
Driving to work saw unique fog. It was sunny because the sun was rising and still below the clouds. Shortly after this it was grey and over-cast rest of the day.

Erin Wright learns to row in the early morning fog at Burbank Park in Pittsfield, Tue June 2, 2010 (GARVER)
After an amazing afternoon taking pictures in Vancouver, on my way home I drove up 15th Street in West Vancouver to check out the view. When I got up there I was amazed at the fog being lit up by the city lights. I found a good vantage point set up my tripod and started taking pictures. Halfway home my heart dropped into my stomach as I realized I forgot to switch VR (Vibration Reduction) on my lenses "off". OH NO! I really actually messed up what would have been some amzing shots. Of the 10 I managed salvage 4. They are not the quality they should be by at least they convey what I was looking at. I'll be kicking myself on this one for a long time. I might go back tonight but it's never gonna be the same and I'm sick now. Ugh!

I went out to another one of our in-the-city falls today. This is Zoo Falls. There was a terrific storm overnight and I figured this minor falls might have sufficient water to look half decent. There was a terrific bonus on the premises! There was some gorgeous fog on the Genesee River, which soon rolled up into the waterfall area. This was taken when only a little had worked its way up there.
A four day weekend for me means lots of dyeing.
Unfortunately the bright colors of the roving were dulled in this photo by today's fog.
I now have enough dyed wool to spin up a dozen Loose Ends skeins!
Up to 52F today then 37 with a feel like of 30 for tomorrow & Friday, a chance of freezing drizzle tonite. Highly unusual for January!
The more subtle cousin of the rainbow, the fog bow. Some image manipulation was required to bring it out.
