This was early morning yesterday, I was up before the dawn. Fog rolled down the Burrard Inlet and swallowed Stanley Park and the Lions Gate Bridge. This was the moment the first rays of sunrise caught the fog and lit the highrises downtown. Captured from West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada ~ October 27, 2017 ☁

More fog rolling over the city. The tips of Lions Gate Bridge are barely visible.

The tail end of Monday night's rush hour over the Lions Gate Bridge with zero visibility. A large fog bank from the Salish Sea (aka Georgia Strait) quickly moved up the Burrard Inlet and into Vancouver. The sound of fog horns filled the air. A Squamish Nation totem pole welcomes all with open arms. This was hand carved from an old growth cedar log picked from the enchanted forest of Hollyburn Mountain. It faces southwest to the outer section of the Burrard Inlet and English Bay. Looking over the mouth of the First Narrows to Stanley Park and Vancouver's famous sea stack Slhx̱i7lsh, a.k.a. Siwash Rock. Up above on the cliff is a lookout which was the site of "Fort Siwash" where an artillery battery was mounted during the First World War. With open arms to all who pass our shores, this Welcoming Figure was raised at the first K'aya'chtn (gathering of ocean canoes). The Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) dedicated the figure to the citizens of West Vancouver on July 25, 2001, with this prayer on the plaque....

"Welcome/Guardian Woman in gratitude to all our Ta7as/Grandmothers.

For all the teachings of our lands, history, of who we are.

For all the teaching in the ways we take care of one another as:

elders, parents, brothers, sisters and cousins, our children, the future generations.

For all the teachings in the ways we share the wealth of the land, the seas and the air."

Downtown Vancouver drowning in the fog...

Mountain top-right I think is Mount Constitution 2409 feet above sea level, in Moran State Park, Washington.

The Lonely tower back left is the Lafarge Canada plant south/east Richmond on the north bank of the Fraser River.

The central land mass in south east Vancouver.

The two tallest towers bottom right; (right) Living Shangri-La Tower; 200.86 meters. (left) Trump International Hotel & Tower; 187.80 meters.

And barely above the fog to the left is the Scotia Tower (138m), RBC Tower (140.51m), TD Canada Trust Tower (138.38m), The Melville Tower (131.42m). And some others..

This morning's dreadfully low tide (0.7 ft) seemed to empty English Bay. Fog rolled in and was lit green by the lights on a container ship anchored in the bay. As I was shooting, a "four-legged" ran in front of me on one of the sandbars (probably a coyote looking for a fish dinner 🐟) Captured from the Spanish Banks in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada ~ December 6, 2017 🏪🏢🏭

This was taken back in 2014 on a foggy night by False Creek in Vancouver downtown. And there wasn't any ugly shinny buildings beside the BC Stadium blocking the view at that time. Hope you enjoy the foggy city night view!

Have a great night!

Looks like some fog has hit Vancouver again! I can't be out shooting in it at the moment, so here's a shot from earlier this year when the fog consumed the city once more!

Vancouver downtown skyline on a foggy morning. View from Cypress lookout viewpoint. Treeline from Stanley Park are also shows in the bottom right corner.

Fog weaves in and out of Vancouver's downtown core, as the colourful city lights bleed through. The Vancouver Lookout with a red Christmas tree on top 🔺 We've been socked in for days and it's supposed to stick around for a while longer. The weekend is here and I'm a havin' a beer, I think I earned it cuz this was worth it. Captured Thursday morning from West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada ~ December 7, 2017 🏪🏢🏭
