Inspired by Pissaro’s painting ‘The Effect of Fog’, I took this shot while walking along the Schuykill river in Philadelphia one morning. I first thought this shot would yield a black and white image, but then changed my mind. I used my Nikon D750 and 135 mm Ai f2.8 at f5.6 for capture and Lightroom for processing.

Early morning fog covers a swamp in Monroe.

On 28 July we were supposed to return to the mainland the way we had arrived: by plane. I had really enjoyed that flight and was looking forward to flying back, but there was fog. We were brought to the airport, where we were told there would be no flights and that we could go back by ferry in the afternoon ...

So we walked around St Mary's for a couple of hours to keep ourselves busy.
