happy mother's day, mum. we'll celebrate with some "night gallery" and a box of sno-caps, just the way you'd like it.
January 8 - Landscape
As I am down sick today but am determined not to miss I have pulled this from my archives. This is one of my favorite photos taken on our trip across country when we moved from Florida to Oregon. This was taken somewhere in Alabama. I loved the countryside in Alabama such beautiful country!
Today's challenge was black & white. This snowflake hangs in our west-facing dining room window. The blackbird is a decal on the window and you can just see footprints in the snow/ice outside.
Resolvi tentar participar do desafio Photo a day de novembro. Para o dia primeiro a ideia é fotografar algo que comece com "c", eu não fui muito original, escolhi "câmera"...

I think you all knew what today's photo would be of! LOL!! The really funny thing about this shoot was I didnt plan for this photo to have a before and after. This is exactly the way it happened!! Sometimes they are into it with treats and sometimes they are not!!
This sculpture is outside my local recreation center. There are various pieces of art on the grounds. Most of them are on loan and are moved around the county to different spots as a part of the art encounters. This one is a permanent piece donated by the artist. “Enchantment”- Artist: Donna Romberger

photo from last year
February 16 - empty - I visited the town I grew up in this past weekend. Founded in 1938 by the family-owned Gilchrist Timber Company, Gilchrist was a small company owned town located in Oregon. The saw mill has long since been sold off along with all the company owned houses. The population of the town continues to decline and most of the company owned buildings (which were all painted this same color known officially as Gilchrist brown) now stand empty and run down much like this old movie theater where we use to watch the latest movies when I was a kid. It's sad to see an era come to an end.
