Sanyu FM breakfast show host Fat Boy reads out "What's the Proggie" news bits during his Saturday morning show, "Alive and Kicking", July 14, 2012.

Sanyu FM, formerly Radio Sanyu, was the first private radio station in Uganda, going on air in December 1993. It also was among the first privately-owned FM stations in East Africa.

The cerebral Fat Boy (James Onen) dabbles in all range of topic, from guy/girl power relations to philosophy, international politics and the music scene, often playing the Devil's Advocate to great effect.

On our way up FM Radio, I spied a sweet little area on the incredibly mossy clifs that I thought I could scramble up to to take a photo of Blake shredding down the awesome single track. And I was right.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my mom. First I investigated the iPod Shuffle, but it was way too overpriced! This wonderful little player however was amazingly priced, and featured:

* 1GB of storage (upgradeable via a MicroSD memory card slot)

* 2-colour OLED screen

* FM Radio (and the ability to record from the radio to .wav file)

* Voice recorder

* USB connection, without being tied down to any particular music software.

* Standard 3.5mm earphone socket

* Neck-strap

On the 2nd day of the Victoria expedition (after our first day which involved a lot of walking / a little bike walking and a lot of delicious food cooked by Blake), we took our incredibly hungover selves out to Harbourview in Sooke for a day of shredding the trails out there.

It's been a couple of years since our last trip here, and there's been some major work done on a few of the trails, namely GT1 (which would be SO much fun on a big bike). But I still stand by my claim that the trail that's name I can never remember was the best one :D

Anyway, the light coming through the trees at this point was totally ridiculous, so I made Blake ride down this cool / sketchy old irrigation pipe towards me.

February 21, 2017 - An Emerson AM/FM radio that is a replica of a 1929 tabletop radio. My wife and I have this radio on a stand in our living room.

If you obey mom and dad, do well in your studies and classes, have no narrow taste of music, work on a farm or ranch, outlet of purchase is Wal*Mart, read and study scriptures as a journal or story of historical and poetic interest, read poetry, write fan-fiction, keep a journal or diary, prefer to stick to the outside of pop-culture and underground society then you are unlabeled. Some might consider you a goodie two-shoes, daddy's little girl, momma's boy, religious nut, stereotypical, book hooked, kkk redneck or boring person that's them. To you, your a good kid! You can be very outgoing or quiet (random), anti-social, or limited outlet and mostly hold a relationship with books (bookworm) or someone who is ultimately a plain jane type of person and sometimes your a sort of young country type! You don't watch cartoons since you think 'cartoons are for kids' you only watch theatrical or cinematic entertainment. You listen to the radio when your up for a tune at a brink of the minute, country music, sometimes listen to folk music or whatever your folks got (even as boring as Elvis). Consider yourself the kind of person that schools have plenty of programs for.

on the third day, we rode the bus part way to Hartland and rode the rest of the way out. We didn't end up taking too many photos becuase I had my bag packed for departure, so instead of riding with it, I wound up just hiding it in a tree for most of the day.

Our main purpose was to ride the new "Half Nelson" like trail "Torpedo", but along the way we wound up riding almost the entire park. Torpedo was pretty fun, but required a constant pinning to clear all the jumps, that I just couldn't seem to do. Sofa King, on the other hand, seemed to have a lot more flow to me, with fewer hits and more corners, and wound up being the major highlight of the day.

after our adventure hear we ended up riding back to royal oak exchange along the surprisingly fun interurban multi-use trail, the 10KM of rail grade just flew by!

Restauro tipo «Mission impossible»

Mission impossible restoration

Well, now it looks like something else.

It is very beautiful and its design is really very 70s.

We see the massive use of slide potentiometers which represented a sort of futuristic choice, the idea of being at the mixing desk of a recording studio but which, in the long run, proved to be a bogus choice since that type of potentiometer it made endless noises due to the dirt they managed to forfeit.

But anyway!

From how I was delivered to what I managed to do, I declare myself quite satisfied!

Using a coat hanger as a replacement aerial is a quintessentially Aussie thing, but you'd think a professional FM radio station could do better...

Nova 100 "Sounds Different". Now you know why...

Apparently, as seen on this Chrysler PT Cruiser, the budget doesn't run to replacement aerials.

Sent this one in to the Herald-Sun a while back - and they ran it. Everyone else loved it; Nova weren't happy...

My boss/producer is on air, appearing in a pre-recorded interview starting tonight for a whole week. We want to hear the interview, so we put the earpiece of a Nokia mobile phone on top of the pop filter in front of the studio microphone Neumann M 149 Tube, and listen in the studio using our NS-10M. I guess this would be the most expensive "radio" in the world. This is a close-up.

That's Canada's father of Confederation and first Prime Minister Sir John A. MacDonald featured on Chez 106 FM's bus ad. This ad concept rips off the Rolling Stones Lips graphic and defaces one of Canada's Founding Fathers. This ad does turn heads And sticks in your mind. Is this too cheeky or disrespectful though, do you think?

Saturation is an installation that highlights the abundance of wireless signals occupying the electromagnetic spectrum. The work indexes the FM radio spectrum to reveal the density of the invisible communications infrastructure saturating the environment and our bodies.

The work is installed in the form of an enormous chandelier; a set of open aluminum boxes housing FM radios are strung together and hung from the center of the ceiling. At rest, while concealed within their enclosures, the radio receivers output an ocean of static. Once exposed [by pulling on a big red rope in the center of the installation], the radios each connect to a different station, filling the space with a cacophony of noise. This process reveals a densely populated, dynamic array of electromagnetic fields that, while intangible, constantly permeate our bodies and environment.
