This is Emily, playing the flute in a studio rehearsal of our jazz music band. The room was very dark with only two spot lights... and plenty of melodies....
ISO: 400, 1/20, f5.6
Emily realized the resemblance of the picture to a Leonardo da Vinci painting:

In the Sunlight Basin of northwestern Wyoming, Sunlight Creek has cut down through glacial moraine deposits. The glacial moraine which fills the valley between White Mountain and the mouth of Elk Creek is rather smooth and contains some Precambrian pebbles. The moraine was created by a glacier moving ustream from the Clarks Fork since no Precambrian rocks crop out further up Sunlight Creek. The moraine dammed the creek and the resulting lake formed the flat-bottomed Sunlight Basin. This view of the creek can be seen near where Forest Road 101 1B (which is a spur off Sunlight Road FR 101) turns after reaching the elevated creek bank.
I arranged these flowers in a fluted pie dish and love how the shape was retained. I regret using the surface because the color is just too intense even with trying to mute it. I guess that it's good to challenge ourselves and work just outside our skill level, that's where the growth happens.
Grand Canyon, just above Lava Falls. This lava boulder has been scoured out by the abrasive flow of the Colorado River. This process halted in 1963 when Glen Canyon Dam began controlling the river flow; this erosion likely only occurs at higher flow rates than the dam releases, and in any case the boulder is too high above the river now.
The walk up to Fluted Cape from Adventure Bay gets you to the top of the Dolerite cliffs of Bruny Island with endless views over the southern ocean. Rocks sculpted by time and trees sculpted by wind.
I'll always be happy if they'd leave me alone in that delightful and unknown furthest corner, apart from struggles, putrefactions and nonsense; the ultimate corner of sugar and toast, where the mermaids catch the branches of the willows and the heart opens to a flute's sharpness.

They say that sooner or later you start to look like your pet. In this case I hope it stops at eye colour as I too young to go grey just yet!

This red and white butte lies in between the South and North forks of Trail Creek near Hillsboro in Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area, Montana. The bluff is composed of Triassic Chugwater Formation that is capped in this area by a white limestone. The top of the butte is mostly covered with Quaternary Landslide deposits. Juniper trees dominate the foreground.
An elegant figure serenely plays a simple flute, symbolizing peace and tranquility. Three figures surround the Flute Player in attitudes of freedom, which peace can bring. (only one is shown).
The Living Memorial Sculpture Garden, founded by vets in 1988 is situated on 136 acres of land provided by the USDA Forest Service, which were replanted with tens of thousands of trees by countless volunteers. The trees are living tribute to those who have sacrificed their lives in war. The sculpture garden is a place for reflection & remembrance, healing & reconciliation. Artist Dennis Smith created the sculptures (not all are shown in my photos). The LMSG pays homage to all honorable veterans, in conflict and in peace.
