Cleo on one of Tofu's fluffy blankets is a rather rare sight. She is a tough girl and doesn't need fluffy blankets. The only reason she decided to lie down there was the fact that I had thrown the blanket on the floor for a moment because I wanted to clean the sofa. Common things in uncommon places raise the interest of the laziest cat.
The beautiful and rather friendly Fluffy. She's the smallest but she's also top of the order. She is one of our neighbours chooks, who I am fortunate enough to look after on occasion. I feel like the pied piper with her and her 3 companions following me to go to bed at night. They really are delightful to be around and make the sweetest little noises.
Chickens have at least 24 distinct vocalisations that humans can interpret too so no doubt there are many more. They have complex interactions and are a lot more interactive than we are taught to believe. They each have their own personality that is for sure ... and why wouldn’t they?
Carnism teaches us that they are just a number/product not an individual who would like to live their life. They are like us in more than a few ways!!

Sicalis flaveola (Saffron finch / Canario criollo)
Mainly a seed eater, the Saffron Finch generally searches for seeds and small arthropods on or near the ground.
The male is bright yellow with an orange crown which distinguishes it from most other yellow finches.
The females are more confusing and are usually just a slightly duller version of the male.
