193/366: Molas Lake Mountain Landscape Panorama – Silverton, Colorado
I haven’t had much time to sort though my latest Colorado photography, but this one did stick out… it is an approximate 190 degree view of the Rocky Mountains in San Juan National Forest from Molas Pass (a 3 stitch panorama). Peaks and mountains include Grand Turk, Kendall Peak, Little Giant Peak, Canby Mountain, Sheep Mountain and White Dome.
I had never seen anything like this landscape before in my life, it was such an ‘awe’ and breathtaking experience. To realize how small we are and how big our world and landscape is.. is utterly amazing, life changing. Being in nature changes people and every time I explore a new place or get out in nature I am changed, I become a better person.. more optimistic, less self-centered and more world centered moving towards the greater good. We have been given this world, only one world and we are to take care of it, treat it as we would want to be treated. It isn’t about me, it is about us.. sharing knowledge and information, helping your neighbor, being a good human and striving to be better everyday.. making today great and tomorrow greater.
If you look to the far left/center of the photo you will see the size of the cars. Epic landscape. Shot with Lee Filters Circular Polarizer.

215/366: The Mountains Tell A Story
The Mountains Tell A Story of beauty and tranquility…. The mountains surround Williams Creek Reservoir in San Juan National Forest Colorado. I took this shot will the rest of the family was eating lunch and I went exploring down by the reservoir. The vast beauty and wilderness that encompasses this area is beyond words and beyond explanation unless you have been there and taken in the fresh mountain air, unless you have heard the tall grasses wisp in the summer breeze, unless you have felt the serenity and tranquility of what is Colorado.

Williams Creek Lake Colorado in the San Juan National Forest. This photograph is a composite of three separate photos to form a panoramic view of the lake, mountains and the surrounding area. The sky was beautiful on this day, a brilliant blue and the lake was calm enough to catch some reflections of the mountains.

137/366: Mossy Waterfall
A brilliantly green mossy waterfall rapidly rushing downstream. I was taken back when I initially approached this waterfall by the saturation of the green moss. It is something you would expect to see in Ireland or another far out land, not Texas. It is apparent that the rush of the waterfall causes enough dampness to create such beauty. After careful inspection and consideration, I knew I had to capture this moss as part of the waterfall experience. I was careful not to disturb the beauty of the moss when capturing my photograph, as I always strive to leave as little a footprint as possible.

2/365: Faded Meets Color
In this long exposure photo taken a few weeks ago at Murrell Park on Lake Grapevine I have titled ‘Faded Meets Color.’ The faded solitude of the lake water meets the colorful beach party of the rocks, to blend into infinity, forever connected and no longer faded.
I searched the shoreline for awhile looking for this spot and once discovered I feel in ‘composition lust’ with the dead log which had drifted ashore and the large tree stump making itself noticed as it bursts out of the faded lake water. I took several different photographs with the driftwood in different locations along the shore.. this spot ended up being my favorite.
This photo was taken with my Nikon D810 and Lee Filters Big Stopper and Circular Polarizer for an exposure time of 30 seconds at f/8.0, ISO 31 – 14mm.

🌌milky way arch over tin valley - terlingua texas🌌
i was hoping to be able to capture the full milky way arch while recently staying at tin valley retro rentals in terlingua texas outside of big bend national park. this is a panorama view of the mountains, moon rise and milky way. it is a total of 4 images merged together in order to get the full arch of the milky way. i'm pleased with the image considering it is my first full arch photo.
the milky way is accompanied by jupiter, mars, a blue giant star (spica – to the right of the image and unidentified towards the middle) and light from the rising moon.

rainwater falling on the ozarks has soaked into the ground for millions of years. as it moved though cracks in the limestone bedrock, it dissolved the stone and slowly widened the cracks to form blanchard springs caverns. the water remained in the caverns until surface erosion carved valleys and allowed the water to escape forming the pictured waterfall.

Greeted by a sea of rolling white puffy clouds.
Cows grazing the food rich meadows.

271/366: Divided Waterfall
There are many things in life with can divide us, separate us, break us, isolate us and split us — and there are just as many things which can unite us, join us, link us, strengthen us and unify us. 6/365: Below 32
The majestic beauty which is reveled by fresh fallen snow is a winter wonderland to the senses.
Seeing fresh fallen snow blanketing the ground, the trees and rocks – elegance.
Tasting large snow flurries as they descend on to your lips – euphoric.
Hearing the snow crash down into the creek and melt away to nothing – in an instant.
Smelling snow, breathing deep… the cool fresh air – of life – of happiness.
Touching as little as possible, leaving little footprint so the next adventurer can feel what I have felt – on the inside.

A long exposure shot taken out on Northshore Trail Lake Grapevine (Flower Mound side) a few weekends ago. We adventured a bit off trail to find this shot of a quiet cove on Lake Grapevine. ☂️cascade🌊
a long exposure photo of upper indian falls in arkansas. i finally found time today to edit some photographs from my recent trip to arkansas to chase waterfalls. for this photo i had to jump to the middle of the waterfall pond in order to get the composition i desired. my boots got wet, but that is what waterproofing is for. this beautiful multi-dimensional cascade of the waterfall was breathtaking and after shooting, i had to take a few moments to just enjoy the music, the air and the view.

308/366: Lost Among The Trees – Colorado Aspen (fall)
The fall version of Lost Among the Trees with the Aspens in Colorado. Every place I visit I do this style of photograph with the local trees in the area.
This one features the Aspen trees in Colorado in their fall bloom. I love how the leaves seems to twinkle and sparkle in the sunlight. There are so many unusual and breathtaking parts of this photo when shot from a low perspective. When shooting this photograph I put my camera on the ground and try to center it between several of the trees where the top is open and the sun in shining in. I then use a remote shutter release to snap the photo. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, I just want to go and get lost among these beautiful Aspen trees in Colorado.

234/366: Lake Grapevine – Silence in The Morning
Spent this gorgeous morning out at Murrell Park on Lake Grapevine shooting long exposure photographs of the lake. The temperature was absolutely amazing and it was nice to escape the house after the days of rain we have had. The world was silent except for the waves and wind. It gave my mind a chance to reset and fine serenity.
I found this location with a small tide pool semi-enclosed by rock structures with a dead bush breaking out of the water and loved the composition. The dead bush gives the viewers eye someplace to focus while the water and sky appear to have moment due to the long exposure technique.

A panoramic view of Williams Creek Reservoir in Colorado. This is a 4 stitch photograph. While the family ate lunch up at the picnic tables, I went on a small adventure down closer to the lake and found this fantastic view. The wooden fence on the left of the photograph brings the viewer right into the majestic San Juan mountain range. As you follow the mountains you will find Williams Creek Reservoir. space+time of last nights total lunar eclipse of the super blood wolf moon captured over a 3 hour 14 minutes and 21 seconds single exposure taken from planet earth, texas using lee filters big stopper.
i’ve never taken a single exposure for this extreme time length before and it was 2 hours of focused math and research to figure out how to make it work, but i desired to express something extraordinary about this universe… we are all connected. i had planned on shooting for another 19 minutes, but my battery died. I’m thrilled with the results and the knowledge gained through this process.

266/366: Window Falls
Happy first day of fall… Enjoy a glimpse though Window Falls at Hanging Rock State Park in North Carolina. This was a beautiful area to photograph and I enjoyed hiking it with my wonderful niece. The cave was cool and offered natural air conditioning on a hot afternoon – as we watched the waterfall gently cascade to the ground and down a stream.

72/366: Serenity at the Creek
After 5 days of cloudy skies and rain, when I saw the sun poke through the clouds this afternoon I knew I had to adventure out to one of my favorite local spots… Stone Creek Park. I could spend hours photographing this place and listening to the sound of the rushing water, watching kids jump from rock to rock and hopefully not fall into the creek. Closing my eyes and being one with nature and the surrounding sounds of birds chirping, kids playing and water rushing. This place brings me total and complete serenity. And yes, I stood in the middle of the creek to get this photo with my tripod sitting on a large boulder.

22/366: Snowy Fence
This beautifully built self standing wooden fence has several inches of crisp white snow lounging about. These self standing wooden fences are popular in Colorado due do there low maintenance. The fence line leads your eye into the snowy dirt road which leads to the mountains.

142/366: Nature is a Canvas
Nature is a canvas painted in beauty and delight. Nature is a canvas I can stare at all night. Nature is a canvas and I am the artist. I paint what I see in the form of photograph.
It was a beautiful afternoon out at the Timber Creek waterfalls we found last weekend, only this time it was sunny with partly blue skies and I had my Lee Filter Big Stopper. I had so much fun listening to the sound of the waterfalls as the photographs painted digital imprints via my camera.

320/366: Light Painting With The Supermoon
After being able to spend some more time with the photographs I took last night of the Supermoon, this is my favorite of all from last night. As I said in yesterday's post - I was struggling with what focal range to use and then I did what I always do - I went wide and for a long exposure.
The lake provided a perfect equation for me to be creative with my own style. This is one exposure, however, I did some light painting on the bush in the front and side. The front bush was light painted with my flashlight and the bushes to the side were light painted with my headlamp. The supermoon light painted the rest of the foreground and the sky, and also provided a magnificent reflection on Lake Grapevine.
Taken with my Nikon D810 for an exposure time of 63 seconds at f/8.0, ISO 100 - 24mm - with the camera down low to the ground.

219/366: Silverton Colorado – Off The Beaten Path
After eating an awesome lunch at the Brown Bear Cafe, I decided to wander around the parts of Silverton Colorado that are off the beaten path. The areas most “tourist” don’t go and I found Cement Creek, which runs through town. I pulled out my camera, tripod and Lee Filters Circular Polarizer and Big Stopper and captured the creek showing the water movement as it runs over the boulders and rocks, with what I believe, is Kendall Peak in the background. The sky was perfect, it was a windy day, as you can tell from the tree and bush movement in the photograph. They almost appear to be painting the area with a lush green smear.
