This bench faces the cemetery in this churchyard. The cemetery is beautifully kept and well landscaped. A nice place for loved ones to sit.

This is a nice brick house with the trees blooming out front. It is one of the few houses in this area that is fenced in. It also has a bonus of power lines. HFF

Goldenrain tree.

Koelreuteria paniculata native to eastern Asia, in China and Korea. It was introduced in Europe in 1747, and to America in 1763, and has become a popular landscape tree worldwide. It is a small to medium-sized deciduous tree growing to 7 m (23 ft) tall. The flowers are yellow, with four petals, growing in large terminal panicles 20–40 cm (8–16 in) long. The fruit is a three-part inflated bladderlike pod, 3–6 cm long that is green, then ripening from orange to pink in autumn.

The magnolias are a beautiful species and another sure sign that spring has arrived. This one was captured a few years ago in Springfield, Oregon on a lovely sunny afternoon.

Thanks as always to everyone who stops by to view, fave, and comment on my photos - it is much appreciated.

Acca sellowiana (feijoa) is native to the highlands of southern Brazil, eastern Paraguay, Uruguay, northern Argentina and Colombia. The German botanist Otto Karl Berg named feijoa after João da Silva Feijó, a Portuguese botanist born in the colony of Brazil. Feijoa is best known for it fruits, but also has beautiful little flowers.

I so rarely do a horizontal layout, but this one just worked better that way. A week ago all the dogwood trees barely had buds...

Norfolk, Connecticut is a small, unspoiled New England town, surrounded by beautiful hills and forests in the rural north western corner of Connecticut, not far from the borders with New York and Massachusetts. "The Rectory and Church of the Immaculate Conception is a historic Roman Catholic church complex at 4 North Street in Norfolk, Connecticut. The church and adjacent rectory are two 19th-century buildings that were extensively altered by architect Alfredo S. G. Taylor in 1925." Source WIkipedia 2023-07-20

“Yesterday, Day of Recollection, realized again above all my need for profound and total humility—especially in relation to any work I may do for peace. Humility is more important than zeal. Descent into nothingness and dependence on God. Otherwise I am just fighting the world with its own weapons, and there the world is unbeatable. Indeed, it does not even have to fight back: I will exhaust my self and that will be the end of my stupid efforts. To seek strength in God, especially in the Passion of Christ.”

“On the night watch, hurrying by, I pushed open the door of the novice’s scriptorium and flashed the light over all the empty desks. It was as if the empty room were wholly full of their hearts and their love, as if their goodness had made the place wholly good and rich with love. The loveliness of humanity, which God has taken to Himself in love, and the wonder of each individual person among them. This is of final and eternal significance. To have been appointed by God to be their Father, to have received them from God as my children, to have loved them and been loved by them with such simplicity and sincerity, without nonsense or flattery or sentimentality: this is completely wonderful and is a revelation...”

Eucalyptus is a genus of over seven hundred species of flowering trees, shrubs or mallees in the myrtle family, Myrtaceae. Along with other genera in the tribe Eucalypteae, they are commonly known as eucalypts. Plants in the genus Eucalyptus have bark that is either smooth, fibrous, hard or stringy, leaves with oil glands, and sepals and petals that are fused to form a cap or operculum over the stamens. The fruit is a woody capsule commonly referred to as a gumnut. Most species of Eucalyptus are native to Australia, and every state and territory has representative species. About three-quarters of Australian forests are eucalypt forests. Wildfire is a feature of the Australian landscape and many eucalypt species are adapted to fire, and resprout after fire or have seeds which survive fire. A few species are native to islands north of Australia and a smaller number are only found outside the continent. Eucalypts have been grown in plantations in many other countries because they are fast growing and have valuable timber, or can be used for pulpwood, for honey production or essential oils. In some countries, however, they have been removed because they are highly flammable. 14430

Saucer Magnolia Tree

Delonix regia, le flamboyant, est une espèce d'arbre de la famille des Fabaceae.

Sa floraison rouge est spectaculaire. Originaire de Madagascar, on le rencontre maintenant dans toute la zone intertropicale comme arbre ornemental.

Magnolia Stellata "Rosea" bud heading off in her own direction. White magnolias are lovely but this tree with its iridescent pink blossoms is my favorite.

These are all on a beautiful old, weathered, lichen-coved, robin's nest filled tree at the edge of Lyman Pond. :)

Nothing says spring like a flowering fruit tree and a porta-potty. One is fragrant and aromatic and the other is malodorous and reeking.

I’ll let you pick which is which.

Pittosporum tobira is a species of sweet-smelling flowering plant. It is native to Japan, China, Taiwan, and Korea, but it is used throughout the world as an ornamental plant in landscaping and as cut foliage. Flowers are changing from white to yellow - when opened - white, when finish to bloom - dark yellow. As a result, flowers of different tones from white to dark yellow are visible at the same time in one bunch.
