for some reason I have this obsession to dye everything....and so...I introduce the new line of happy gnome embroidery floss.....hopefully up in my etsy shop before the end of the year...with kits....patterns and all on its own.......beacause life is too short to embroider with solid color floss
I found the "silk" and seeds from the pods of two silk floss trees (flic.kr/p/2ix2taR and flic.kr/p/2iswP4p) on the ground (on May 22nd), gathered them, and took an image of them. I have been waiting for more than two months to see what would happen when these pods opened. I didn't realize the pods would dry and then open up and drop the "silk" and seeds to the ground. But there they were; soft fluff (like silk) and seeds scattered about by the breeze.
