I had a sudden surge of guilt about teeth care. Bought a new toothbrush (six dollar electric), floss and expensive toothpaste. I flossed furiously today. I wonder if I will tomorrow.
I keep leftover strands of floss if they're long enough to be useful. When I need a tiny bit of a certain color, there they are!

I have all of my floss in a bowl in the living room where I do most of my work. I'm a big fan of color, and I love seeing the mix of vibrant colored floss together in the bowl. And here is where it gets interesting, if that's the word. They are from Brazil, same as Aldi's blue ginger. I was discussing the ginger with a woman of my acquaintance who is a member of Friends of the Earth; her immediate response on hearing of the strange change to red coleslaw was Argh! Obviously GM. (Sign of the cross). Now, while I am not completely hostile to GM I do believe we need to be careful. Accordingly, and given not just these two horror stories but also the dangerous oik who is running that country right now, my Ethical Consumer Dept has imposed a boycott on all Brazilian produce for the foreseeable future.
