Painting acrylic on canvas,size 50+40 cm,2019.Candy floss has an interesting structure and looks very beautiful, I wanted to capture this moment on canvas.
This is how I spent my 4th of July, I organized my brand spankin new floss. This process literally took most of the day, but I was in hog heaven, TCM was having a Hitchcock marathon and it was overcast and rainy outside. I love those kind of days don't you?
A silk floss tree (Ceiba speciosa) in full bloom brightens the day for pedestrians on the platform above Brasília's central bus station.

I have mild OCD so playing with my floss is a harmless way for me to indulge myself. I like to rearrange them by numerical order, and then into a rainbow by colour. It's very soothing to play with the spools (bobbins? cards?), and almost meditative to wind the floss onto the cards.
I also get a lot of inspiration just by playing with colour combinations.

I even have more metallic floss than is shown in this picture. I bought a huge lot via eBay, but the downside is there are many many duplicate colors.
Sort of need to do huge projects using red, green, or gold floss. Christmas?
The floss of a Common Milkweed plant in a beautiful floral shape. Pretty special, isn't it? In the Butterfly Garden at Prairie Park Nature Center in Lawrence. This one's for Monochrome Bokeh Thursday.
Using Sublime Stitching variegated floss - not easy as there are really long pieces of the pale colour - you really have to plan out your colour and stitch placement if you are stitching a smallish piece. DMC doesn't have such a dramatic change in colours - which you use would very much depend on your project I think.
