Finally out hiking again in the deep woods! I'm not sure what to call these floral gems . . . my "Wildflower Of Iowa Woodlands" didn't have them displayed or listed?
Beautiful soft spring colors peeking out along a small creek. A delightful surprise to say the least . . .

I went to Kew Gardens this week after so much time away from my camera, the orchid exhibition was beautiful and so colourful!
Last in this series on summer flowers, this one featuring a purple Hosta flower with a nicely posing bumblebee.
Hostas are known for their lovely large leaves but their flowers can be delightful, too.

I was very intrigued by the translucency of this tiny little pod with it's wispy tentacles coming from the top. I have no idea what it is.... about 1/4 inch in size.
