Floral designers like using Orchids for special events because they are very hardy and hold up well even without water. They come in different colors and varieties and are great for bridal corsages and boutonnieres. For a modern and elegant look, add some jewelry to your wrist corsage. Wedding flowers: White Cymbidium Orchid, photo taken in Santa Clara, California.

FOCC @ University of Cambridge. One of the activities for the children at the University Centre was flower arrangement. Local floral designer Madeleine Bradley helped the kids do some beautiful things with the flowers. I could only look on in amazement! I don't do flowers, but I do do photos:-)

Centerpieces are made of manzanita branches with green cymbidium orchids and white paper flowers tied on. October wedding flowers at the Aqua Hotel in Mill Valley.
These floral arrangements are so versatile and can decorate any party without breaking the bank. It's a great DIY project. The key is to use a tall skinny square vase: place the branches first, cut the stem of the Hydrangea and Orchid diagonally and place them on the mouth of the vase. The stems have to criss cross one another. Notice that the only stem showing is the branches and not the flowers, giving the arrangement a clean look. Picture taken in Los Gatos, California.
