On the top floor, looking down, of the boutique hotel, Ohla, in the centre of Barcelona. A really quirky hotel with a great infinity pool/cocktail bar and Michelin star restaurant called Sauc. Truly a wonderful hotel.

Meßberghof - Hamburg
(1924 - 1938 Ballinhaus)
The building was built from 1922 to 1924 based on designs by the architects Hans and Oskar Gerson for the stock corporation for domestic and foreign companies and was named after the Hamburg shipowner Albert Ballin, who died in 1918.
The museum is home to world-famous and unique objects, such as the 29,500-year-old Venus of Willendorf, the Steller’s sea cow that became extinct over 200 years ago, and enormous dinosaur skeletons.
Mirror and painting over the fake (!) fireplace are 18th-century, the green clavecin too (tiny corner on the left. There are no wood panels, that's fake too. The mannequin looks like the "Sarotti-Moor". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarotti I don't know what they think, to put mannequins like that in the castle. In Germany this room would be on the first floor, in America on the second.
The forest floor on a rainy October day.
I switched a year ago to a calibrated IPS monitor for looking at these.

Lawton, OK
Last weekend we walked along a stream in a small nature reserve outside the city. Mid March and nature was still holding back. It was probably still too cold. Most of the forest floor was covered in last year's dry leaves, branches and twigs were bare and the air was cold. As we passed by a spruce forest, a delicate green shone on the forest floor beneath the spruces, a wonderfully soft and fluffy carpet of moss. The afternoon sun only lit small patches of the moss and it seemed somehow enchanted, as if only fairies and dwarves were missing and the picture would be perfect :-).
Taken from the 7th floor of IUB university 1 year ago during capturing whole building structure for cctv.
The total building is Architect by a former student of same university, and yet this one is the best building as varsity/house from all building/house i have seen. the whole building is a master Idea, and I learned so many points of future buildings in this Architectural design.
But i cannot share the diagram, its not my right to do so
Croft Castle
These wonderful floor tiles are in the Church Of St. Michael and All Saints at Croft Castle. They date mostly from the 15th century, but some are even older. They were moved to the church from the former Croft Castle when it was demolished in the 17th century. Various designs can be seen (although I haven’t been able to get the entire floor in the photo) these include, abstract patterns, Coats of Arms, including those of England and France, along with leading families of the period. Although they are now all mixed up, originally the groups would have formed geometric patterns.
Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.
Shot taken for Saturday Self Challenge 08/11/2025 - Marbled .
First thought for this challenge was to dash out to the churchyard and find a marble headstone - but that might not be a marbled enough effect for the challenge plus with the week I have had not really a viable option . Next thought though , more possible having just walked into the kitchen and noticed the floor tiles - they have a strong marbled effect !
So here is a shot of one of the tiles ( a spare from the garage and shot taken outside with better natural light ) .
On a closer look and one that I have never noticed before , near the centre of the tile it appears to be a shot looking down on India from a very great height - hence my title for the shot .
And for Sight and Sound in that case here is Kashmir by Led Zep and although there are many remastered versions - I have gone back to an original which to me has more depth to it !!
I´m very glad this photo is published on "The Sea Letter", a literary journal of poetry and short fiction, based in Galveston, Texas.
Many thanks to Leo Gonzales!

I’ve Been Here
Leaves covered the rough ground
Musty smells mixed with
Fresh October air
I crawled out of the tent
Drank hot black coffee
And began my day’s task of learning to read signs
Behind the tent on a steep slope
I examined my footprints
So I would know how it looked
When I passed through
For hours I studied
A cracked leaf
A snapped twig
A depression
After a time, I saw that
I had been there
Unmistakable
