People having fun in the top of one of the many floats in the parade. Sunset colours bathing Gran Via gave them a nice warm tone :-)
For "Visit Malaysia 2007", Tourism Malaysia has lined up many attractions for the tourists & locals alike, and this floral parade and Floral Fest 2007 being one of them.
True to their cause, their float showcased Malaysia's attractions, including the wau (traditional kite), the Petronas twin towers, Eye of Malaysia ferris wheel etc.
We created a political art float with friends and neighbors for the 2017 Mill Valley Memorial Day Parade.
The Bamboodu Theater is a puppet show on wheels, starring Lady Liberty and Mr. Trump. Each time Trump says something wrong, Liberty hits him on his thick, bobbing head. A news ticker displays some of Mr. Trump’s latest fake news tweets.
Parade participants will be invited to sing along the inspiring poem on liberty: “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddling masses …”). Through this interactive art experience, we hope to engage people of all ages to change the world through civic action.
We built this float in my front yard with a wonderful team at the Mill Valley Community Action Network (MVCAN), a local political group which I recently joined to resist the conservative takeover of our country.
In this work session, we completed the float, draped it in black, painted and attached our liberty figure and the signs. Can’t wait to show it off at the parade on Monday, May 29, 2017.
I’m very grateful to all our friends and neighbors helped us bring this project to life: Danny Altman, Laura Boles, Phyllis Florin, David Glad, Peter Graumann, Edward Janne, Suz Lipman, Charlene Lundgren, Jean Marie Murphy and Mark Petrakis and Martha Roush, to name but a few.

I am creating an art float with friends and neighbors for this year’s Mill Valley Memorial Day Parade.
Our float for this parade features the Bamboodu Theater, a mobile puppet stage I created for civic events and art shows. Our first show stars Lady Liberty and Mr. Trump. As music plays, a Mr. Trump’s recent tweets and alternative facts appear on a news ticker. Each time Trump says something wrong, Liberty hits him on his thick, bobbing head.
As we march, we will invite parade watchers to sing along the inspiring poem by Emma Lazarus about the Statue of Liberty (“Give me your tired, your poor …”). Through this interactive art experience, we hope to engage people of all ages to change the world through civic action.

Sensory deprivation tanks. Truly an amazing experience and I can't wait to do it again. For those who don't know, it's a large tank void of any light at all. It has about 8inches of heated water with about a thousand pounds of epsom salt in it. You strip down, rinse of in a shower, pop in some ear plugs to help keep salt out of your ears and to help negate any sounds. You open this door walk in close the door and lay down and instantly float with no effort. The water and air are heated to roughly body temp so you can't even feel the separation. So, you can't see anything, can't hear anything and can't feel anything. You lay there for at least a couple of hours. Sensory deprivation. For the first time in your life. It does take a bit to get your mind to quiet down and then the fun begins. Your brain is an amazing thing and can do great things. Aside from mental wellness it also does miracles for pains, My back hasn't felt that good in years. They have one right on the Venice board walk, Venice Float Labs, Owned by a really cool dude by the name of Crash.

Rafts have become a symbol of Belgrade in the recent years, mainly because of their exclusive nightlife. They are usually night clubs, cafes & bars, restaurants and even hostels. The rafts offer a unique way of having fun, relax by the rivers and refuge from the urban chaos of the downtown.

In August? Odd. Very odd.
We were amused by a small child, who kept taking baubles off the float, and running to show them to her father, who was trying to fish.
Vague facsimile of an Oz Meat Pie Floater. Minus the meat pie (it's Linda McCartney veggie pie) and minus the peas. Verrry tasty tho'
