These buildings were completely reconstructed by the archaeologists; most of the rooms had signs saying that you couldn't go in them, but a few allowed it. Can't you imagine the ledge full of people working, talking, singing and caring for their children? All the sounds: babies crying, laughter, dogs barking, the sharp click of flintknapping, the murmur of the stream below... Smells of food cooking, hides curing, the sweat of living people and the smoke of fires-- this was a village.

Another impressive cache - you can see a couple normal size points in the corner of the shot. These things, while not as elaborate or huge as the Duck River artifacts, are still quite impressive. Status symbols? Burial offerings?
