Looking over the Walensee at a little place called Amden on route from Linthal to Flims whilst studying the geology of the area - a brilliant view of the now curved 'Strattenkalk' limestone which has be thrusted up during the formation of the Alps.
The Lab doesn’t usually make political commentary, but this week’s theme and someone’s tenuous relationship with facts and the truth made it too hard not to go there.

Sorry Robert, I coudn't resist.... ;)) Of course it's not a capra pyrenaica hispanica but a "simple" goat, although I don't know the exact kind. But I would like to honor my dear flickr friend robert_galo with this picture. If you have time, check out his lovely photo stream with many of these wonderful animals (and more) in their natural habitat.
I found this "mountain beauty" during an early walk in the grison alps above Flims on the hunt for a nice sunrise...

I found this beautiful flower and its visitors on a hike in the mountains in an alpine meadow, where it is rather common. I thought at first that it's a chervil (dt. Kerbel) but I'm sure it's not. I know chervil. It has a more flat top, rougher flowers and fruit. I think it might be "Chaerophyllum hirsutum" (dt. rauhaariger Kälberkropf), but I'm not sure at all. Unfortunately I don't have a clue what could be its name in English. Anybody have an idea?
