Majlee our dear Flickr friend has passed away in December.
How we all will miss her. I knew her for a long time; I am so happy I had that friendship.

The first week of December is always a busy but pleasurable one for me, as it is the time when the Christmas magic begins in my home. I usually bake my home made mince pies and shortbreads and trim my Christmas tree. These enjoyable activities are always accompanied by Christmas Carols (yes I have a large enough selection to play across the weekend without repeats of artists).
The theme for the Flickr Friends Fifth of the month theme for the 5th of December is "Festive Season and or lights". This beautiful hand blown and painted Polish Christmas bauble (a gift from my two goddaughters) on my decked Christmas tree, illuminated by some soft lighting I think meets both the themes in one!
So, let the festivities of Christmastime commence!

For anyone who follows my photostream, you might be aware I am very fortunate to be surrounded by some wonderfully artistic and creative friends. This includes my very dear friend Maria who creates some truly beautiful and amazing cards from recycled paper and cardboard.
These fabulous and vibrant origami shirts are amongst a selection of Maria’s cards that I currently have at my disposal for family and friends whom I think would like to receive one. To quote Maria’s inserts that go with these cards:

Today’s Fifth of the month theme for the Flickr Friends Melbourne is "vibrant or folded". It seems to me that Maria’s handmade origami shirt cards match both theme choices quite nicely. I hope you think so too, and that they brighten your day.

This is me with my Flickr friend Janet, who sadly passed away on Friday after a long illness. We became friends on Flickr through our love of cats (at the time she still had Dilly) Ten years ago, she came to visit The New Forest: I gave her a tour of the place so she could see all the wonderful animals. She had a wonderful time as you can see from the photo below. She stopped posting on Flickr back in January but Phill and I always kept her in our thoughts, as we always will

Hi Flickrfriends. This is my first time on Flickr for about 6 months. Life just got too busy, and Summer was too sunny to be on the computer. Now the Fall rains have started, hopefully I can do more with my photos. Haven't even been taking that many lately.....but this was from the week before Thanksgiving, at a fire/weenie roast at the Lake.
I hope everyone is well and that the recent fires/storms/floods/drought/wars haven't impacted my Flickrfriends. It's been a year of tragedy so many places in the world. Just have to keep going, praying, loving. May God bless you all.
