My friend Brit was in the mood to do a Cosplay shoot with her beau Brandon. She didn't have to twist my arm. She showed up as Rosie the Riveter and Brandon as Captain America. We lucked out and got great weather and lighting near the Old Pen in Boise. What a fun shoot in October 2021.

Coach Tom explains why and how an arrow bends when released from the bow. My son is hooked on archery, I am more hooked on HDR photography. Tom works for a National Geographic company - I wish to meet some NG photographers some day.

Petri Flex V is a 35mm SLR camera shutter B,2-500 speed with Petri f2/55mm lens, Made by Petri Camera Company Inc, Japan c1961
At first glance, this camera would be mistaken for the common Anscoflex II, but the Sure-Flex is actually quite uncommon. It was made in India by Ace Camera, and this example was sent to me directly from Mumbai, the city in which it was manufactured some 50 years ago.
In McKeown's price guide, they put forth the suspicion that Ansco sold the Anscoflex dies to Ace after the Anscoflex was discontinued. Since the latest advertisement I can find for the Anscoflex II is from December 1958, the Sure-Flex would presumably have been made after that.
What I find most interesting about this particular Sure-Flex is the fact that the film winding knob is completely different than that of the Anscoflex. The photo of the Sure-Flex in McKeown's book shows a winding knob indentical to the Anscoflex, and the few pictures I can find online show the same thing. Since Ace obviously made some cameras with the Anscoflex-style knob, it makes me wonder why they made them differently at some point. Any theories?
