This was the airshow that almost wasn't - Karl the Fog owned the day. Yes we got to see a few planes through gaps in the fog, but it was a very subdued event, with over half of the planned performances not happening at all, and with very scaled back displays from those that did.
Whenever we could actually see a plane through the fog I took photographs in the hope of getting something...
On a typical Fleet Week flying day I can easily shoot over 5,000 photos of planes in action. The shots in this album are the "best"(?) of around 400 taken all day.

Rainy weather didn't keep Sailors and families from touring New York during Fleet Week. (29 May 2017, Nathanael Miller)
Shows the sluices at the seaward side of Telford's Bridge at The Mound. Taken from beneath the 'new' road bridge. Foreground is seaward part of Loch Fleet. The sluices give the western part of Loch Fleet (on other side of the bridge) a totally different almost freshwater habitat.

We went to see the airshow that was on for Fleet Week. We arrived to see the tail-end of this demonstration by a bi-plane. He did amazing flips and corkscrews, but my favourite is when he angled himself and just hovered in space.
