This was the airshow that almost wasn't - Karl the Fog owned the day. Yes we got to see a few planes through gaps in the fog, but it was a very subdued event, with over half of the planned performances not happening at all, and with very scaled back displays from those that did.
Whenever we could actually see a plane through the fog I took photographs in the hope of getting something...
On a typical Fleet Week flying day I can easily shoot over 5,000 photos of planes in action. The shots in this album are the "best"(?) of around 400 taken all day.

Temple Bar is the barrier (real or imaginary) marking the westernmost extent of the City of London on the road to Westminster, where Fleet Street (extending westwards) becomes the Strand.
In another photo in this collection, I mention the concept of "toy crack". This is an example of Japanese toy at its crackiest.
For gawd-knows-what-reason - and alcohol must have been involved somewhere - a number of these tricycle-riding robots were released, from various series. The trike is powered by a clockwork motor, and the little bell on the back rings as it goes along.
The acid pink balloon is perhaps the crowning touch.
Naturally, I wanted one of these Dai-X tricycles as soon as I heard about them. I finally got the chance to acquire one in Toys Paradise, Shimokitazawa, Tokyo. My thanks to the wonderfully nice shop owner for giving me a great discount on it.
